What did they say, around 70% of the car is camaro alpha specific? You can't just take the weight of the ATSV, X it by RPM and divide by 5252 to get the weight of the 6th gen. You want to know what the weight of the 6th gen is? You'll either have to wait and weight one, or take GM's "over 200...

would better tires help the GTPP much? it seems to be pretty loose as it was on the track. I wonder if stickier tires would just make the body roll worse.

you could be right. GM has just said that the Camaro will be on the smaller alpha platform. and the current ATS is a fair bit lighter than the S550. but they also never came out and said that the 6th gen will be lighter than the S550. for interest sake I think the 4 cylinder ATS is around 3360...
