  1. Future value

If the car is to be handed down, then what do you care about future value if it will never be sold?
  2. Average S550 monthly payment?

OK, first of all, you should have known what I meant, not what I wrote! What I meant was, in my thinking, at the time, when I wrote it, was that back in the day, a $1000/month house payment was what one might typically pay for an entry-level first-time house. Natch you can make the...
  3. Average S550 monthly payment?

First of all, what is "FA" and what piece are you referring to? Secondly, there is no such thing as a $1000/month house payment anymore, unfortunately. To answer the other question, I got 0% financing on my GT, so I put nothing down and as you can imagine, the payment is pretty steep (36...
  4. Best method to sell 5.0 Mustang?

Selling a car yourself is always a pain. And it seems to have gotten worse. I sold my previous GT to Carvana back when the market was stupid crazy. Right now it's just stupid. :frown: Getting a quote from them takes only a few minutes. Also try CarMax, and definitely try your local Ford...
  5. Deep sleep mode

On the dash. I don't use the app.
  6. MT82 - 1. Bucking at low speeds, clunking. 2. Stern Lawsuit

It's a softer spring, so the pedal is harder to operate but by the same token, you get more feedback because the spring is doing less. I did that on my 2019 GT and it helped a lot. For some reason, I don't find that I need it on my 2021 GT. Either Ford changed it, or I'm just doing better. I...
  7. Deep sleep mode

Funny, just after I read this thread it happened. The car (2021 model w/2300 miles) has been sitting for 10 days, because I bought a new BMW and been driving it. This morning I hop in the Mustang, it's fine, no messages, drove it to work (about 14 miles, mostly highway 70+) parked and locked...
  8. Deep sleep mode

Obviously you need to get that garage air conditioned! It's your aftermarket sound system. LOL, I'm only half kidding. Did you install it yourself? Most of those systems have a dedicated "always on" power line and a switched input so that it knows when the head unit/ignition is on to power...
  9. i wonder if K&N drop in filters net more gains with 2022 cars...

I concur. Let me add to this that my calibrated and board certified butt dyno tells me that my 2021 GT 6-speed has less power and torque than my 2019 GT 6-speed did. It could be convertible versus coupe, or it could be because the 2019 was tracked and therefore driven a lot harder in the first...
  10. Bought abused GT?

I concur. I always shake my head at these guys who think they know better. And sure, Ford engineers make mistakes, they do cost-cutting, they sacrifice (for example) performance for longevity. Everything is a compromise. Hey, most of us (older folks) have been there, done that. If I had a...
  11. Purchasing question

If Ford had engineered the car to have a blower on it, then it would have come that way from the factory. I would never buy a used car that had an aftermarket blower, turbo, etc. on it. Period.
  12. Looking to buy 2016 ford mustang with SALVAGE title need your advice!!!

If you guys would look at the report you'd see that it's not a flood car. It got crashed. As others noted, no way it got repaired, parts and labor plus the cost to buy it, for $13,000. They had to cut some corners somewhere. Run, don't walk, away. Go find a nice car with no questions on it.
  13. Preparing to buy my first S550, Need some advice

Good luck Andy. I tracked my S550 coupe (I have a convertible now) and it was fine. I'll suggest that all of these horror stories about the transmission are the 1% who complain on the Internet, not the 99% who have no issues at all. Kind of like the exploding Z06 engines and failing cylinder...
  14. Is it a good time to buy a mustang?

Using that logic, wouldn't he/she be better off waiting for winter? It's still summer/early fall (however you want to label it) in the USA. I'm seeing some used car prices dropping a bit, so things are getting better. But that's also another reason to wait. If the OP is going to finance...
  15. 22 S550 Tracking Thread

    That's gorgeous, congrats!
  16. Just about ready to throw in the towel.

Excellent perspective, thanks for sharing. To be fair, the Euro guys didn't improve their game until Lexus came along and showed them how.
  17. Just about ready to throw in the towel.

One thing I've noticed in my years of car buying, is that higher-line dealerships tend to pay more attention to customer satisfaction. Not just because they track and compensate salespeople for survey results, but also because many of the salespeople plan to stay there a long time, build up...
  18. Ford updated my order status!

I ordered a new Mustang GT convertible on February 15, 2022 through Chapman, and received the acknowledgement from Ford shortly thereafter. Then came some of those "sorry, we're delayed" emails. In April I said "enough!" and bought a car locally out of dealer stock, for a little bit more...
  19. Just about ready to throw in the towel.

OP, sorry to read of your misfortune. I'll add - not that it matters - that's it not Chapman's fault, it's Ford's fault (actually it's really the shipping company at fault), and they (Chapman) shouldn't have to pay the penalty. Also, Ford has a contract with the shipping companies, that's why...
  20. Officially filed a lemon law claim through BBB Auto Line. What can I expect in terms of the possible outcomes?

First of all OP, congrats. It looks like you made progress. Second, that letter does look strange. It's obviously a form letter, but it shouldn't have those issues. I've heard of the BBB of course, but not the BBBNP, so maybe they're not very sophisticated. Third, it appears that Ford...
