You know, there is ONE thing they do not show in TR tests, and that is acceleration. But they DO show braking...and the tire's ability to STOP is roughly equivalent to the tire's ability to accelerate. The Contis win in that aspect...and based on your opinion and that fact, they got my money...
I see that the ExtremeContact Sport tires are a little more expensive but they also have mixed performance numbers at TireRack. The Indy's are actually better in some tests in the dry, but don't come close to matching the Conti's in the wet. Damn.
I also see these Indy 500s in 325 width, but...
Resurrecting this old thread...
I am really close to pulling the trigger on Firestone Indy 500s. Anyone have anything negative to say about them? 285/35/19 all the way around...
Truth be told I already spent 6g on her this year so. I keep seeing people putting on a new manifold and headers and intake with a corn tune and getting nearly 500 at the wheels. Thinking 500 should be enough?
My wheels and tires are on the way and my sweetie is giving me 2 grand for performance upgrades. I was thinking long headers, intake and tune (moving to corn is an option here, everyone sells it), or maybe some suspension mods instead of the long tube headers? What do you think?
So I am looking to put new wheels and tires on my 2021 CS/GT. I am looking at some SVE wheels from LMR, but I have seen a bunch of reviews about the Nittos they have with the wheels and think I can do better with Michelin or Firestone or even Generals. The thing is, when I look at the LMR wheel...
While I like the idea of a staggered setup, being able to rotate the wheels appeals as well. Maybe I go with 19x10 all the way around. Also, a lot of reviews out there are saying that the Michellins are actually not as good of a value as the General Gmax tires--they are overkill for the street...
