I'm not expecting major weight reductions on the current platform. I think we will get a gt350 platform with a turbo or supercharged 5.2 making 755hp. I just wish we could get an idea when it's coming.
I think the trick to using a 7.0 NA would be how compact it would be. Managing the heat will be the problem with high hp engines, and if there is limited room for coolers it may not fly. Same problem with turbos and superchargers.
That's the problem, Ford can't seem to get it to market, I would just like to know it they are actually going to produce one. I have not even seen a test mule lately.
I'm ready to drop some coin on a high hp muscle car. I like the Camaro ZL1 but it's too cramped for me, Hellcat Challenger has great hp and I really like the interior room but just as soon as I get it Ford will reveal the GT 500 and I'll be bummed out.
I just wish Ford would produce something to outrun the competition instead of sitting around trashing the Camaro and old Challenger chassis. We have a good platform, just need mega horsepower.
Has anyone on this forum actually taken one of the cars to a track and competed against the other? Curious to know which ran faster in real life. My guess is the better driver would win no matter which car they were in.
I think it will be revealed after the Demon hp figures are released, especially the street mode number. Ford knows what the ZL1 figures are and will leap over both of them. Doubt if they will worry about the Demons track mode hp number.
ZL1 comes with a/c. I don't know how much of the other Pill information is true either. Truth is Ford has nothing to compete with it right now and needs to get something on the market.
I saw where Mercedes showed a hybrid concept car that delivers over 800 hp with the assist of electric motors. Wonder if Ford will use that type of technology in a future halo car.
From the rumors about the Dodge Challenger Demon, I don't think there is any way a 755 hp GT 500 will beat it. This thing will apparently be drag race oriented.
My cobra is a fun car but I have to know its limitations. I try to avoid LS powered cars but have fun against 80's camaros. Lol. Would love to have a terminator but price has always stayed high.
The current Ford Mustangs are doing well, but you have to agree there is a hole at the top of the lineup. zl1 will eat any mustang out there right now. I know Ford has something to compete - just need to get it on the market.
Discounted 17's will be a big draw for the price. I also think it will be more expensive and difficult to mod the newer motors. Camaros have that problem compared to the older LS motors.
