  1. Another Predator Engine Pic

If a 2.3L TVS on a 5.0 can make 727HP at the wheels, I would say that a 2.65L TVS on a 5.2 could easily exceed that...I realize that's a fairly simplistic view and there are other things that equate to speed and acceleration, but I could easily see high 700s at the crank.
  2. GT500 - Power or Weight?

I'd also be interested in the gear and final drive ratios when it finally hits the street.
  3. GT500 - Power or Weight?

Wouldn't it be more appropriate to examine torque to weight ratios? Regardless....it would also depend, I guess, on whether you were in a straightline drag race or a circuit like autocross. With turns I would definitely go with lighter weight for all the reasons already stated (braking...
  4. Introduce yourself!!

Tell me about it...my last 5.0 was a 92 LX and I thought it was fast. my latest 15 has over twice the HP. 25yrs since I owned that one and it was raining the night I test drove this one....talk about nervous...lol. I was surprised how quickly I fell back into the groove of a RWD Manual.

  10. Vegas Vacation - Choose your adventure

    1) I go to Vegas at least once a year...I wouldn’t say that I “do” Vegas but I’ve driven there quite a bit. 2) Almost did an auto cross experience in a Lambo but after reading about $100s of dollars of extra insurance I would need just in case I accidentally went 10rpm over the limit or touched...

My turn: I’ve been married 5 times. Twice to the same woman.
  12. Jonesing

Dang I feel like a snowflake. Haven’t driven my car since the 20th and I feel like I am going through withdrawals. Can’t wait to get back from visiting the in-laws so I can take the edge off!:(
  13. 104+ Octane Booster

Up til now I have only used the 10% ethanol blend. The station that has no ethanol fuel carries 90 octane.
  14. 104+ Octane Booster

There is one station here in town that sell actual gasoline with no ethanol.... I'm thinking that I might fill up with that stuff next time and run a few unscientific tests to see what my avg mpg is after using that and the other ethanol blend. With all the advanced ignition controls in modern...
  15. 104+ Octane Booster

I was about to say the same thing....the write up for 104+ indicated that it couldn't be definitively claimed to raise your octane to any particular level.
  16. 104+ Octane Booster

So the idea was that WITH the boost I could use a lower octane fuel.. The brand name was 104+ The rest of your explanation makes alot of sense. None of the available products provide details. The most detail they have is "Treats up to X Gal," in the case of the bottle I used it was 25 gallons...
  17. 104+ Octane Booster

Didn't see a place in the Technical Section so I'm posting here... I was under the impression that I SHOULD be using 93 Octane fuel in my completely stock 15 GT but where I live the max available is 91. I thought I might try an octane booster and just add it to regular 87 octane fuel (actually...
  18. Accent Color for '15 Guard Metallic

Actually the orange suggestion really got me thinking. I can get 1’x5’ piece of orange vinyl wrap for $8 so I might try wrapping the hood ventilators to see how I like it.
