Did it sound the same? I know a lot of people are referring to it as belt chirp but it definitely sounds more like tapping in my situation. I know this issue is belt related but hearing a tapping sound like that on startup can be very distressing at first!

Sorry to hear this happened and I hope any damage is minimal so you can get your car back on the road ASAP. I have my Whipple install scheduled in two weeks and was thinking of just going with the Whipple warranty but after reading this I have decided to go forward with the OPG's and crankshaft...
That's what I figured, didn't think there was anything closer. I went there a few times when I had my LS1 TA but haven't gone yet with the mustang.
