I didn't read the whole thread so forgive me if someone already said this in advance - $2k is nowhere near enough of an incentive. The difference in price between the SS and the GT is so much that a new owner could afford to slap a blower on the 5.0 right away and DESTROY the Camaro.
I like...
Sorry, I wrote that post in kind of a rush. That's a tech from McLeod (Art) explaining what they replaced and what they observed on the original clutch. It's a hand written note but it's better than nothing. Gave me some ammo to throw at my mechanic. He kept asking me questions and I kept...
Dropped the new clutch off today, I told him I'm not paying for labor this time and he looked at me like I said I banged his daughter. No negotiations. He said he couldn't figure out how they messed up and that if it was install error, why would McLeod cover it under warranty? He's a nice guy...
My new, 1,000 mile McLeod RXT blew up about two weeks ago so I totally forgot about this. I've been fighting the shop that did the install since I had a feeling they installed the clutch incorrectly and McLeod confirmed my suspicions yesterday. Now, that I've got the ball rolling with that, I'm...
I've got a friend who just sold his GT500 and he's interested in purchasing a ProCharged S197 5.0 out of the DFW area. Problem is that we're in San Diego. If anyone would be willing to help us out, please PM me. It would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
David
Hey guys, sorry I haven't been active in this thread. Turns out the clutch was installed incorrectly.
Follow up thread in case anyone is interested -

Here's a handwritten note from Art at McLeod.
Received what is pretty much a brand new clutch assembly from mcLeod today. Turns out I wasn't crazy and the shop actually did install it incorrectly. Fucking morons. Drove two hours there and fought traffic for 3 hours back but I've got a new set-up. Now to deal with the shop.
Broke the clutch? What makes you say that? And the clutch not releasing fully would be a byproduct of incorrect TOB adjustment, correct?
I'm getting varied opinions, but McLeod said the clutch is in great condition.
I've got a friend who works for a major clutch company that told me that the root of my issues may be the TOB. His theory is that the slave cylinder isn't releasing completely thus causing the issues I'm having. What do you guys think? The guy's great at what he does but even he's stumped.
Thanks man. Unfortunately too hard for me, I'm a weekend warrior - I can install bolt-ons but this is beyond my skill level. :(
The trans is out of the car.
They said their master tech did a couple tests before pulling the car in and said skip the diagnostic and recommended I take it...
That's my own fault for taking the dealership's advice.
I took my SA's advice to just take it back to the shop instead of having them look at it since they assumed it was more than likely the clutch. Now the shop that did the install is tired of seeing me and I'm tired of seeing them but...
Well, I've got one hell of an update for you guys. The car's all torn apart again and according the shop I need a brand new clutch. I stopped by the shop about an hour ago and sent photos to McLeod and then received a call from Bryan and Billy of McLeod racing and according to them, the clutch...
Good God, selling my '15 GT for a C6Z would be a dream come true. Although I am terribly scared of dropping a valve (I'm assuming this is what happened to you). Hope you came out on top and didn't lose too much/any money on the Z. Are you planning on boosting your new GT down the road?
The...
Really? That's the first I've heard of that. Can you post some links to the threads of the cat delete dynos?
I'd say my cat deletes and flexfuel tune are the best mods I did power wise. May I ask what happened to your 15 GT?
