I assume this will require 11-14 stock headers on the entry level. At least the driver side. If so, will that come with the kit? Also, since your kit will be designed to connect with stock headers, can 11-14 Kooks shorties be used?
You guys are killing me. I have been aggressively saving for a down payment on a gt350 or maybe even the rumored Mach1. Don't know, just saving my ass off. Lately though, after reading all the great reviews on Whipple, I find myself day dreaming about a Gt auto build with a Whipple...
Right there with ya this year. I owe 1k. What pisses me off the most is the wife and I together paid over 40k in taxes this year. Doesn't seem right. Even worse, there is so much waste in government spending. Just Google Obama's expense accounts. Politicians are up there having a good ol time on...
Thank you. So 18 degrees on a WOT pull, with ideal AITs, -knock, and good 93 fuel. Just want to say I'm extremely impressed with what I've seen so far from the Whipple tune and Flare.
@ Whipple SC
What timing does the Whipple tune command with the 3.625 pulley and 93 octane and how much will the timing increase with 93 octane + Octanium?
Yeah, didn't think about the valve clearance. I hope and pray we do see a 5.2 but even if we get that lucky, I still think ford will be conservative and keep the horse power well below the GT350. The larger bore would give us some decent torque.
My guess is also 5.0, GT350 heads, revised 13mm GT cams, a different intake manifold similar to the boss but not the same, and forged pistons like the boss. Horse power and torque will be a bump above the boss 465/400 ish and a redline of 7500. I don't feel it will be much more than that...
I emailed Circle D with a similar question. I asked what was recommended for a non daily driver, occasional track use, and mostly trips and weekend cruising. The recommendation was, if drivability was any concern at all to stick with the stock one.
Any full weight, daily driven street car with all the comfort features the s550 has, running in the 10s is fast as hell! For the money it takes to buy and build an S550, Ford definitly hit a home run with this one. We are not talking purpose built all out race cars.
I respect the hell out of Lund's tuning but with all the features that Whipple offers, their tune would be hard to pass up. My vote is, if you're going to run pump gas, stick with Whipple. Trap speeds look to be about the same. Plus, the software and tuning continues to get better and better. If...
In for results.
In the 1st post, I thought the opening for the throttle body was oval, (Cobra jet Mono-Blade style), and the later picture proved that wrong. Got excited for a minute.
Those curves look really nice. I can only imagine what they would look like with the GT350 intake manifold. It would pull hard past 6500 rpms. So far I am really impressed with all the blower and turbo kits for the S550. The coyote is a beast and loves boost. It's making me want to buy a GT...
Southwest Virginia here. (Roanoke). Both dealers I normally deal with want 15k and 20k over. Here is one for 15k over

This! Touchless FTW. If you use it once or twice week, car stays clean and swirl free.

I also used this on my bike and car. Very good stuff! Just spray on, let it work for a few minutes and rinse. To dry, I would use a leaf...
