Grinds going into 6th. Same thing, bad synchros or bent shift fork. Still going rounds with Ford. The FORD CUSTOMER CARE TEAM really doesn't care. Wait, that was to nice! They DON'T give a shit about the customer, only getting it fixed the cheapest way possible and they only do that because they...
Why stop there? Go old school and bring back the 351 (5.8l). People would sell their left nut for a 351ci, gt350 heads, and cobra jet intake manifold. I can dream can't I?
I haven't seen another GT350 in my area, or else I would definitely request a ride. Just hope it's an easy fix, if not , I will wait and trade up for the next best thing.
Got a couple complaints but over all, I love the car.
1st, my car came from the factory with a defective transmission (grinds going into 6th, bad sincros maybe or bent shift fork) but Ford wants to rebuild it rather than replacing it. I would understand if it started acting up after a few...
Maybe our engines are pulling to much vacume from the crank case. I build engines where I work and when we test the engines we put a manometer on to monitor crank case pressure or vacume. When we have to much vacume we add a reducer to restrict some of the vacume. Just a guess but could be an...
It was on one of those TV shows like Hot Rod TV. It's been a while ago since it aired but they did back to back tests on a GT500. Didn't say it lost power, it just lost against the H-pipe they tested. Typically the X pipe will have a 2 to 4 horsepower advantage over an H- pipe but in this case...
Looks to be more of a merge rather than a crossover. An X crossover like our OEM X pipe or MagnaFlow's, looks to force exhaust flow into each other at the intersection. Borla's, ARH, Stainless Works, and Kooks X-pipe curve and merge were it can keep the same flow path and assists exhaust flow on...
I'm interested.
Especially if Ford doesn't replace my transmission. Car came new with a defective trans so I'm working on getting it replaced with a new one, preferably one with a trans cooler.
I do remember a TV show years ago. So many years, I can't remember which show but they did a test to see which made more power, X-pipe vs H-pipe on a GT-500. They did same day dynoes just swapping the mid pipes. In this case, they were using MagnaFlow brand which had the same crossover design as...
I agree with David. Our stock x-pipe (crossover design) definitely looks to be disruptive, air colliding rather than scavenging. Borla's x-pipe is the correct design for scavenging air flow. Most of the top aftermarket performance exhaust companies have a similar design for their x-pipes.
I'm working on it. Already called Ford customer care team in Detroit and they told me it has to be torn down before they make a decision. Fingers crossed for a new trans!!
