That should be more than enough.

Finding a midrange that is perfectly balanced with the stock components will just take trial and error. When I upgraded to my Alpine R series separates actually sounded worse until I added more power.

Everything here is wrong and should be ignored. I have a 12” in the trunk and it rocks

Trash the amp and all the speakers. It’s not that hard to upgrade

I use my trunk to haul tools and such and was concerned about damage. I put mine in the factory location

you could try it, I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. I abandoned the circuit at the amp and installed my crossover in the door feeding off the 6.5 and supplying to the 3.5 connector to the tweeter.

I don’t want to stick my kid into a headache

It only happened when in drive with the ac on. In park with ac on it sounded normal. Didn’t try it in drive with ac off.

Went to test drive a 2021 for a kid today and it sounded fine but when put into D with the ac on it idled down to 750 and didn't sound right to me and had a shake. We put it back into park and handed back the key fob. 66k miles and looked overall ok but this didn't seem right. Opinions?

If you care enough about your sound to find this forum and then take the time post you need a sub. Listen to all those that made this journey before you. No one who installs a sub says that they would willingly go back to not having it.

I think some of the transmission shuddering complaints are really lugging and detonation. Are you noticing it below 1500 rpm?

Have you tried better gas?

You could still use the F02 and prep for the amp that you'll be adding later. Everyone does eventually.

Of course not but you'll hear all about it here. Search this forum and you'll learn plenty.

You need an F02. You will want to use Forscan to change the output to preamp and go ahead and ad an amp for the front speakers while you are in there.
