Yeah, that is a bummer. I bought mine at the exact same time and lucked out with the newer unit.
I know in one of the other threads a dude managed to get into the file system and make some changes. It is strange that he is being so secretive about it and won't just post how he accessed it. I...
You have an older version of the unit. I don't have the time, date, or spelling errors. Only thing wrong with mine is it displays temp in C rather than F. I turned off temp all together so I don't even have to see it. There has actually been a few times I was curious what temp was, but then I...
Got mine the other day... it is very nice. I was very surprised by the weight of it. Handed it to my coworker and his hand fell expecting it to be much lighter than it actually is.
I put it inside the glove box. There is a hole that connects behind the screen that goes directly into the glove box. I was able to just put my hand through the hole inside of the glove box and then used my other hand to feed it through and was able to grab it and put all the slack into the...
I just ran it through the side of the radio directly into the glove box behind the trim. Works flawlessly and is out of the way. No need to run it elsewhere.
Bummer. This is a swap I would more than likely do as I want a Roush spoiler. My car is black though, don't want to deal with getting this painted.
Good luck with finding the trade
Just a heads up... the first few years of a vehicles life, the vehicle symbol as assigned by ISO can change. I have been in the insurance industry for 10 years and have never seen seen an ISO symbol change more than a few steps up or down but anything is possible.
If you are quoting yourself...
I did something a bit different with mine. I felt like the B/N did not match too well with the gloss black and the look I was going for.
Ideally, I would have left the Coyote letters and head in red and dipped the rest, however that would have been a tedious task to mask it off properly and...
It's similar, but the MFT swap is definitely more polished than the Tomptop. If you can live with turning off temp or reading it in C and using the physical controls for a/c and heat instead of on the touch screen... you would probably be better off with the Tomptop. See below thread for the MFT...
No. I only spoke briefly about it. I think they put in a custom Pioneer system if I remember correctly.

Apparently these guys have been around forever in my area. If you are interested in knowing what they did, might as well call them up at the...
I spoke with a local car stereo shop. They did a custom set up for a new Mustang but the dude advised it was pretty expensive because it was completely custom.
The post I was replying to said they wanted wheel controls, navigation, larger screen. All accomplished for a very inexpensive price with the Tomtop.
If this Raxiom comes in at $700 and does all the same functions as the Tomptop without using Sync, I hardly doubt it will be that much better...
And it also has navigation. I don't ever use it, but people who have are very happy with it. Also, some people are buying other hardware to go with it so you can do screen mirroring from your cell phone.
I understand why Sync gets hate, but I don't understand the hate for the Tomtop unit. Every...
