...actually, my tuner doesn't dyno tune, he street tunes then puts the cars on the dyno's. He may do some fine tuning at that point. I've used the same tuner from day one on my car, so it could be a happy dyno or a sad dyno. It is a dynojet, always SAE corrected. His dyno is outside and...
I had a 2003 Cobra, modded with pulley, polished/ported blower, tune, etc...made 500rwhp/480rwtq on 91 Octane. However, I thought it was not a fun car, except going straight. My next car, a 2005 C6 Z51 LS2 that had every bolt-on and custom cam, a screamer. Ruined my next car, a 2012 Mustang...
....just had it done but due to rain, no dyno. Feels stronger but Ive been doing this a long time, butt dynos can lie. At work this week so dyno next week. Mods are in my sig, 437/390. What are typical gains from the tune?
Looks to me like the PP3 would be the way to go, the others would be meh. If you have an auto, go with a Circle D converter and then you will see performance jump a leap. Granted, if my tq converter had not failed, I wouldn't have one but knowing now, probably the first swap I'd do on an auto...
That's what I was thinking. Though I don't race my car anymore, put a Circle D 4c in mine felt like I dropped 200 pounds, added 50 more hp. Granted, just what it feels like and no doubt if I track my car, good tires, it is quicker than it was with the converter. This car will be in the 10's...
On a different car than I have now (my old 2003 Cobra), I've used the exact same type of dynojet, one in Virgina, one in California and using the SAE correction, the lines on the graph were practically identical. Using the same formula is my guess. Matter of fact, a third dynojet in SoCal put...
What this SAE corrected, STD corrected, etc? Always a way to show higher number. Hell, my tuner never uses a fan on the motors while the car is on the dyno.
No, type of car Ive owned means jack $hit. What I have accomplished in life means everything, Besides, I flew jets off aircraft carriers inn the navy, cars are boringly slow in comparison.
What happens when the 18's get the same mods? They will come...slightly higher hp/tq to begin with. Reminds me when the LS3 came out, making a whole 35hp more at the motor than the LS2, it was comical, like this thread. In the end, everything is pretty much the same, modded is anyone's game...
That what I was thinking. The motor makes 460bhp, that's it. Now, if it runs 116-117 in an auto, impressive, using its hp/tq and putting it to the ground.
Now I owned a 2005 C6, FAST intake, CAI, full exhaust, custom cam, etc. Ran mid 7's at 96 on DR's with bad driver, me. My point...
My car is an auto with a Circle D 4c and with the mods in my signature, I made 435rwhp/487rwtq SAE, spinning to 7500rpm where the hp curve is flat, not falling off but probably good enough. I did go with the GT500 intake manifold, 93 octane only.
So far, it has been great, my tuner has this dialed in. I live in Corpus Chrisit, Texas which is hot and humid every damn day. Granted, it has only been a few days so as far as long term, I don't know. All I know is the car drives amazing, feels 200lbs lighter and accelerates much faster...
Don't hate but I almost purchased one through your shop, I called Circle D and ordered one but didn't realize they made them once you ordered. It took about 6 weeks to get. Your shop was next on my list.
My car has been down for a while, the stock tq converter, specifically the stator vanes and the transmission pump shred itself....while just driving normal. I think I was at 25mph when it happened. So I opted to get a Circle D 4c converter (3800 stall), a new trans pump, etc. Still has same...

...a few months back, my tq converter shit itself so I ordered a Circle D 4c with a 3800 stall to replace the stock one. Well, looks like the oil pump in my transmission destroyed itself. New one will be forthcoming but what else is needed to make this thing a bit more bullet proof? Oil pump...
