I had / having everything "professionally" installed (I use quotes as I will find out if the people who did the speakers and amp install did a good job on Thursday when the DSP in installed at a different shop. I have found a couple of flaws with the install and want to see if anything else...
I have recently upgraded my audio system in my 2015 mustang V6 coupe (however I have upgraded from the base 4" screen and sync system to the factory 8" screen and Sync 3). Have installed at the moment a Kenwood XR901-5 amplifier, a JL subwoofer box with a 12TW3-D4 subwoofer, and Hertz MPK 165.3...
Do you know how everything was wired? If the speakers and amp were wired directly into the ACM wiring right after the head-unit and did not bypass the factory amplifier..that migh be why there is a problem. You may need to change your Forescan codes. I think you may need to change to "internal...
Going to add to this thread...just got my car back from the shop. Be aware I have the base 6-speaker system. Here is my setup:
1. Hertz MPK 165.3 Pro component speakers in front (https://www.crutchfield.com/p_301MPK1653/Hertz-MPK-165-3-PRO.html)
2. Kenwood Excelon XR901-5 Amplifier...
Got my car back from the shop where they upgraded my sound system.
This is what was installed (bear in mind I had the base 6-speaker system):
1. Hertz MPK 165.3 component speakers (front only)
2. Kenwood XR901 5-channel amplifier
3. JL Audio Stealth Box with 12" TW3-4 Subwoofer
One of the...
First off...the car is now 75K old...Yes I LOVE DRIVING MY CAR.
In addition, I upgraded my audio system. ...went with Hertz MPK 165.3 Pro component speakers, Kenwood Excelon 5 channel amplifier, and JL Audio Subwoofer Box and subwoofer.
As it stands this is a HUGE upgrade to what I had before...
FYI...got my system installed yesterday (love it...just need to add a DSP to take care of alignment)...problem seems to be gone...so it is either the APIM sending a screwed up signal through the CAN BUS network or a loose connection on the ACM side, or a loose connection elsewhere...not sure...
Saw a mustang with the plate 5OH4SHO tonight on 80 westbound. Also spotted a red mustang with a yellow S550 sticker on front emblem (80 eastbound)? You guys on here?
Wait there is a diagnostic mode? How do you activate it?
I also wonder if this could be due to how we routed our wires from the USB consoles to the APIM and FCIM...maybe there is some "cross talk"...might need to check routing and re-route to prevent this.
Also, does this problem occur for...
I am having the same problem as well. However, it seems that the problem is stemming from the communication between the APIM and ACM since we don't have the same problem when using the radio...which POSSIBLY rules out the speaker connections to the ACM. I am also going to see if this occurs...
I am at 74,450 with an MPT 91 octane tune. Thinking I might de-tune down to the 85-87 option since I am out in California where gas is more expensive. Change my oil every 5,000 miles (full synthetic). Changed my coolant, transmission, differential, and radiator fluid at 50,000 miles just to keep...
Wow...I am so sorry this happened to you.
I had something similar happen to me in that when my car was sold to me, there was an undisclosed repair on the passenger side door (door skin replaced) and it basically failed / fell out of alignment. After going back and forth with the dealer for a...
The seats are made by Katzskin and the door panels are the same material...just done by the yard...color has held fantastically over the year I have had it. No bleeding from dyes, and I wear jeans on a regular basis. As long as I keep the car out of direct sun and keep using my sun shield during...
Just an update...car is now around 74,200 miles...still going strong. Steeda control arms with bearings made a huge difference in handling characteristics...later this month I am upgrading my sound system...Kenwood Excellion speakers, JL subwoofer and stealth box, and 5-channel amplifier :D...
