  1. Don’t run a burble tune

Sucks that you're having troubles with the tune. A couple of things to quickly check; - Check JLT washable filter has been secured properly (not loose). On my car, I found a sudden problem with idle and running rough was caused by the actual filter becoming loose (due to not being secured to...
  2. This guy insulted my wife and I over my car today

Ermmmm… on another note; To elude to maybe a taboo topic, after I upgraded the exhaust on my Stang a certain unintended side affect was that it tended to make ā€˜happy vibes’ for a particular gender of people. I’ve since installed a huge sound system in the car which has resulted in a particular...
  3. Almost time to finish build...some questions

I had to do a fair bit of fabrication to put in a set of 3 way Focals (see pics) however they were the KX3s. The focal flax series tweeters click straight into the A pillars with no problems at all. the mods will require a little bit of work to make sure they don’t have cone clearance issues...
  4. Prefab sub box

The Zenenclosure kits look pretty good šŸ‘šŸ¼ I ended up making my own enclosure up for my twin 12ā€ Focal KX30s as they needed a bit more breathing space than the prefab enclosures could give. front facing sealed sounds loud and punchy if you can properly seal off the boot, which I wouldn’t trust...
  5. tweeters that fit under stock grille??

Silks have a little better off axis response as well I’ve found šŸ‘šŸ¼
  6. Aftermarket Rotors

For information, I've fitted a set of Brypar Two Piece Fixed rotors (konic profile) on my PP1 spec 5.0 and replaced the pads with Hawk 5.0 (Street), leaving the rears as OEM. These have worked great. The main aim of the rotor change was to lose a bit of rotational mass (10kgs each instead of...
  7. tweeters that fit under stock grille??

Maybe a bit late to the party with my suggestion but I found that the Focal Flax Evo TAM tweeter is a perfect click out, click in fit. For my install I used the Focal ES165KX3 set which has a slightly larger (yellow) tweeter. A considerable amount of work was done to fit the tweeter in the OEM...
  8. JL Audio Build Finished

Thanks so much for the reply, awesome work! I think I’ll steal your idea on the back seat spacers. Even with the sub’s recessed in by 3ā€ there’s so much energy at full volume I worry about causing stress to the latch points. Most of the time I have the seats down but it would be great to have...
  9. JL Audio Build Finished

Oh! Also, did you get a chance to weigh the sound system to see how much added weight to the car it has? Just curious....
  10. JL Audio Build Finished

Your setup looks amazing! So glad you got to finish the project. I'm hoping that you arent giving the 12w3s the full dose of power from the VXi-1000s as I'd be worried about the voice coils melting :fingerscrossed:. I don't see that adding fans will be required as the VXis are excellent at...

  12. AntiGravity Battery Failure

    Yesssss šŸ¤˜šŸ¼ excellent news
  13. AntiGravity Battery Failure

I think there’s an issue with the battery and it needs to be looked at. move been running a lithium for over a year now and if I get out of the car and take the key with me it’s at least 98% the next day (8+ hours), whether I’ve locked it, double locked it or just switched off and left it...
  14. AntiGravity Battery Failure

Yep. One of the issues with lithiums is that the vehicle BMS thinks that it can initiate self checks and parasitic drain every now and then if the battery voltage is over 12.5v…. lithiums are fully drained by the time the vehicle considers cutting down power use.
  15. AntiGravity Battery Failure

We were talking another member having issues with the AG battery in this thread. https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/3-step-aftermarket-audio-setup-less-money-most-results-a-magic-step-to-make-sound-perfect.185530/page-2 I have noticed with the S550 platform that there is a fair bit of...

  19. 3-step aftermarket audio setup (less money, most results) + a magic step to make sound perfect*

:blush:Totally filling up this thread with unrelated topics Ok, that's weird. Working with Lithiumax and we've had some great results. I thought that the AG Batteries were good to go? The Lithiumax has the GEN 5 protocol in the BMS, which I remember some other brands a few years back didnt...
  20. 3-step aftermarket audio setup (less money, most results) + a magic step to make sound perfect*

I’m actually heading out today to meet up with a large group of other Mustang enthusiasts that want to know the ins and outs of this system for performance testing as well. long story short: near the battery is a coil type current sensor on the negative lead. Any earth cables you want to...
