The stage 3 is the only trans with the new Gforce billet gears that'll handle abuse. Since you've got a SC'd car and a manual, I don't see why you wouldn't spend the extra cash and get the stage 3. That's what I'm going to get if I break my trans after going FI. Spend the money now with some...
I decide on what tires I want and then spend a couple of hours searching all the online tire dealers along with ebay and Amazon to see who's got the best deal including shipping cost. I then take it to a local shop to have installed. That being said, I've bought tires from just about every...
Thanks...maybe the 19's will be around the same price or cheaper. I'm definitely going to run a set of these on the back once I get the Vortech installed in the next couple of months. Looks like the treadwear should be pretty good for a DR, especially if its not a DD.
Usually people experience gear lockout at high rpms going into 3rd which is what I used to get on the stock clutch. I don't want to assume anything. Let us know what the dealer finds out when they take it apart. I do know from experience that the stock clutch doesn't like high rpm shifting...
Well it looks like you have the suspension all set-up, now its time to start on the drive train. It could just be the slave cylinder, but I think its time to invest in a new clutch/flywheel set-up. Beafcake racing has some good deals going on right now.
I would suggest taking a look real close at the axle shafts, especially the left side shaft which is the one that usually snaps. Did the car wheep hop when spinning?
My clutch pedal with the RST clutch without a spring barely feels any stiffer than the factory clutch without the spring. I don't see how it'll kill the slave. What's not good for the slave is constantly keeping it engaged like sitting at a stoplight, which I don't do. If I can put the car in...
After doing tons of research on the interwebz I ended up going with the Cobra dual pro 360. It has all the latest GPS features plus directional arrows which I really wanted as it helps knowing where the signal is coming from. With the GPS feature, if it sees the same X/K band 3 times(as in a...
I removed the stock spring and didn't replace it with anything. The clutch feels good and the pedal isn't stiff at all to me. I'm not sure why more people aren't just going this route instead of installing another clutch spring. Be interested to hear others opinions about this.
The GESi cats are 7" long. I'm assuming there's at least 7" of straight piping on the new mid pipes you have to cut-out the section and weld in the new cats. If you have some time and want to, can you measure from where the last pipe bend is to point on the pipe where the slip on starts...
My plan was going to just not install the fake cats and use the slip on pipes on a set of GESi ultra high flow CARB Green cats and have some welded in. Now I'll have to cut the newer mid pipes and weld in the green cats. I'll try and see if I can find a set of the older non catted slip on mid...
Looking for a new or used set of Texas Speed non catted connection pipes with the old style fake cats. I don't actually need the fake cats, just the connection pipes that were a slip fit for the fake cats.
Thanks for the picture. These new mid-pipes are going to create more work for me. Wonder if I can find a new set with the older style mid-pipes with fake cats.
I have the FR power pack 3 with the no lift shift(NLS). When this was working I had absolutely no violent shifts at WOT at any rpms, even at redline which is 7500. This feature is great for not placing violent stresses on the drivetrain when shifting at WOT with the rev hang. Somehow, I lost...
The tendency of letting your foot off the clutch quicker when shifting faster, will engage the clutch quicker against a flywheel that's spinning at a much higher rpms. It's not going to be really smooth. The car is going to jerk/lurch ahead in this scenario. Get an aftermarket clutch and see...
