It's not just the higher octane. A gallon of ethanol has less energy than a gallon of gasoline, but since the air:fuel ratio is so much lower and so much more ethanol has to be injected, there is more energy released on each power stroke.
The 70% unique components are not just in the structure. That is for the whole car. There is so much different there is no way of knowing what parts were lighter or how much lighter they were unless GM releases the information themselves (which they are not going to do). The Camaro is lighter...
Some other things I found interesting:
•All-new Explorer
•All-new Police SUV Interceptor
•New product to be added
I think the new Explorer is supposed to go to the new RWD D6 platform, and the new product is probably a Lincoln based on the same platform.
•All-new Super Duty...
1-5-4-8-6-3-7-2 is L-R-L-R-R-L-R-L. It fires on the same side twice every two revolutions just like every cross-plane V8 (You also have to count the 2-1 right in a row). The reason the Voodoo doesn't sound like a typical flat plane crank V8 is because of the unequal length headers.
Randy already posted pictures on his facebook page that had the GT350, GT350R, and Z28 all right next to each other on that track. He said they're releasing it on 11/25.
Thank you, but you're not going to convince him. I've been telling him this same basic stuff for pages and it doesn't matter. He's still worried about a couple whp difference by different cars on different dynos tested in different years. It's amazing they are even that close. The Camaro...
This was the comparison I posted before.
They all look basically the same except for that front aluminum brace on the ATS-V is different from the CTS-V and Camaro. I'm pretty sure the only reason the ATS has a different one was because they couldn't fit a strut tower brace over top of the...
Motortrend did not dyno the Camaro SS. Hot Rod did at a completely different place than Motortrend uses. They also have never dyno'd an S550 Mustang GT.
