  1. What are you doing to "protect" your Mustang in public?

Parking rules: 1) Never park next to grass (never know when the sprinklers will come on) 2) Park at the end of a row and hug the edge (for extra space to open those gigantic doors enough to get my clown feet out) 3) Don't park under trees or lamp posts if it can be avoided. 4) Specifically for...
  2. What’s Your Daily Driver Alongside the Mustang?

Daily driver opposite the GT is a 2014 Suzkui V-Strom 1000. Although not shown in the daily driver role...
  3. TPMS vs stick gauge

The TPMS value is lower by 2psi +/- 1psi depending whether or not it rounded up down or (or not at all).
  4. Abnormal Camshaft Wear

@Optimum Performance, I have the same question... Most of the lobes on my left side have that same looking "wear". Perhaps the right side too. I did the right side first and didn't notice it, but I wasn't looking for it at all... Just happened to register once I got a look at the left side...
  5. TPMS vs stick gauge

I've liked this digital gauge I picked up from Lowe's. It has a silicone dome tip that seals a lot more easily and from multiple angles. It has been within a couple PSI of the TPMS up or down 1psi due to rounding as mentioned previously.
  6. Upgrade factory 6 speed shift knob

I would love to do this to mine as well... but my body color is metallic, so it probably wouldn't turn out as nicely matched. Or even do the Ford Performance in red, white, and blue sort of like the actual. Also, afraid I don't have the skills to not screw it up.
  7. Upgrade factory 6 speed shift knob

    Me too! Part # M7213M8A
  8. Steeda, this can’t be normal

I installed the shifter bushing. Significant increase in NVH. The first time my wife rode in the car afterward she asked "what have you done to the car" within a couple of blocks. I added some pipe insulation between the mount and the chassis. May have helped, but wasn't enough, so I...
  9. 2016 fastback power windows loose memory?

I have a 2016 but have never had this issue and haven't really looked very closely so I don't really know anything but a few things came to mind if it helps... Any chance the car isn't registering that the door closed and is just "waiting" for it to close before actuating the window? If it...
  10. What did you do to your S550 Mustang today?!

Drained and filled the transmission (M6) and differential at 50K miles. Went with the BG Syncro Shift II + MGC for the trans, but stuck with the MotorCraft fluids in the diff. We'll see how it goes. My garage smells "wonderful" still... Next up... wash, wax, and switch back to the summer...
  11. What maintenance would you do?

If you log into the Ford Owner website, you should be able to download the owner's manual. There is a basic list in there (at least there was for 2016). Good place to start. Other things I've been doing are to check the wheel bearings, steering linkage, brake pads, etc. every fall when I swap...
  12. What maintenance would you do?

Look into replacing the coolant. The anti-corrosion additives get consumed over time. I believe it is recommended to replace the coolant after 5yrs and every 3yrs after that. (could be remembering that incorrectly) I have also noticed that my car is very hard on batteries. Likely due to all...
  13. How many issues has your Mustang had (30k miles plus)

2016 GT Premium, 50K miles (FRPP stage 2 performance pack) Warranty: When new, had to replace the stereo head unit, followed by the USB port. Post Warranty: A while back, had loose valve cover bolts resulting in a leak with smoke. I re-torqued them and no additional leaks so far. More recently...
  14. TDS for spot free rinse

Hard water contains the dissolved calcium (and other minerals). Softening water with a unit that you put salt into exchanges the calcium for sodium. Sodium is nicer than calcium because it is easier to redissolve and remove. But the TDS is unchanged. Only swapping calcium and sodium 1:1. A...
  15. TDS for spot free rinse

I have used DI in my wash bucket from time to time as well. If not DI then softened (the soft may leave residue, but they are a lot easier to clean off than hard water stains). Usually the soap itself is what leaves residue requiring a re-wipe if it dries. My number 1 rule for parking is never...
  16. TDS for spot free rinse

I have a CR Spotless system. When I asked them about this same thing (knowing when to replace the resin), they said to Hawkeye the surface when above zero and to not let over 20ppm dry on the paint. It has been quite a while so I could be remembering it wrong and wouldn't want to put words in...
  17. Lid for Ford Performance CAI ?

The only thing you had to purchase was the lid? I. E. The GT500 lid attaches right onto the GT350 box with no additional pieces? I have what is presumed to be a competely sock GT350 box as was supplied in the Ford Performance Power Pack 2 kit.
  18. Lid for Ford Performance CAI ?

Thanks for the info. Really adds perspective to whether the cost and hassle are worth it. Although for the clean appearance and to stop the paint from getting rubbed off the underside of my hood, the $200 is probably worth it and the slight IAT improvement could be considered just gravy...
