Going into the ER as I type!
I really thought it would be cool if everyone could leave their egos at the door and have an open discussion that benefited the whole. Guess not.
I did not know you made over 450 ft/lbs as I did, cool. I wasn't bashing I just wanted this to be a technical thread, and provide answers for people instead of selling products. I hope you can understand.
This thread is not a sale pitch thread. I have asked that multiple times, and I'll ask it again. Either share info on where Livernois believes the stock rod limit is or technical aspects that are helpful to the thread. There are other threads for sale jargon. I busted Adams balls about it a...
I had a stage 1 Rousch ecoboost on the dyno a few days ago and the customer did not know to run 91 in it. He put 87 oct in it and it put down 215 hp. I'll find the graph and post it tomorrow.
The gas quality in Oklahoma is very poor worse than Texas' 91. You will loose about 2 degrees of timing from what I have seen and can cost close to 20 hp.
Hope this helps.
Brad
RIP Tuning is proud to offer our Etunes to the Mustang 6G forum.
We have seen our customers cars trap over 110 mph and go 12's on stock tires with our ETune.
For a short time through June we are giving $50 off all Ecoboost Etunes with the code MUSTANG6G
All tunes use the Cobb AP...
Pull your motor apart and take a real good look at those rods. Then get back with me about how much torque you wanna push through them. Do you know that Ford does not machine the rod end caps? They break them off. Ford did not build this motor to make that kinda of torque, and I know that...
I am considering closing this thread as I have asked repeatedly to discuss the motor and the limits. Not opinions of the tune.
I started this thread to help the community. Its the only reason.
Motor never saw 8K. Its an auto and shifting at 6K as there is no reason to take it past this as power drops off. It was at 29.7 Psi and will return to that and more shortly.
No offense taken.
We are currently moving forward with a forged motor and larger turbo. After examining the stock rods I feel that I will not push a customers car past the 400 ft/lbs to the wheels on a stock motor. Some may last at 430 and some may fail at 400. This is my opinion and how...
In no way am I being any way. I started the thread and I can stop it. I brought it up for discussion among everyone. If people want to talk about upgraded turbos and such with the stock rods than that is great, but lets not make it a brand X or Y when speaking about it. I asked that this...
Right you did not mention any of your kits. No promoting there. Come on.
If you want to talk about the stock rods then do so that is what this thread is for information. Let's talk about 450 + torque to the wheels on the stock motor and internals. Lets educate the forum about these motors.
You did it correct. The reason for the HP loss is the stock intercooler is not efficient, so your car added fuel and pulled timing for the charge temps.
Yes we were out there late last year. At the current moment we are waiting on a turbo for our car and the plan is for it to be up and running next week.
Stop by the shop and say hi.
