I really appreciate your input... and It's interesting.
I agree that my US car history is recent and limited... And in fact I'm an Alfa Romeo lover
I came to the US with the Mustang GT on mind... but a big part of my budget went away with an Explorer Limited (Family first... ) so I had to...
For me (and it's just my PoV), the Ecoboost engine architecture is closer to a Japanese turbo engine than to a wonderful US big engine.
Do you see a Mitsubishi or Subaru 300+ hp as muscle cars?
Maybe I'm wrong.
A V6.... if not a GT.
I don't see a 2.3 on a "muscle car"
But I understand that it runs well, funny and it's easy to tune.
I wish I had as many tunes for the V6, but 300Hp are enough for me now.
Just missing some extra exhaust sound.
I know this Ecoboost engine, actually is built in...
Even if it's sold together you don't see any description and/or wiring components as it happens with other parts.
I guess is too soon to get a Wiring Diagram
Hi
Has anyone find out which are the center console OEM parts?
I'm just wondering how the center console can be removed to check the wiring and see if the Premium Package switches could be installed into a base model... some kind of swap.
I was thinking that the OEM parts catalogue...
I'm not familiar with US cars but most of EU cars accept additional functions just by installing the required parts plus in some cases on board software activation. For instance, I made some upgrades this way on a Bmw X5 and LD Discovery.
My point is.... Why would Ford spend designing...
We will have to wait for the wiring diagrams.
For me it sounds like a sales strategy.... because of this many buyers will go for the PP on the GT or EB... as Max57 I guess
I'm used to see these things on European cars (I come from Spain) and is easy to upgrade a car just by plugging parts...
My name is Javier, and I came from Spain 4 month ago to live for a while in Chicago.
Since yesterday I own a V6 51a 3.55 diff and first impression has been great.... I have had all kind of cars and I really needed to try a Mustang ;)
Is not the GT.... But it's a starting point, and I'm tired...
Since yesterday I own a Blue V6 51a with 3.55 diff. I just drove 100+ miles in Chicago traffic so my mpg could not be too relevant. I will share some figures asap.
I'm sure the drive modes (inc. snow) are available for the V6.
I bet the wiring is already there, behind the center console.
Just missing the switch.
Could anyone from Ford bring more data? A wiring diagram maybe?
