First of all, I never had a clunk, I took it to the dealerfor a metal clank noise that occurred when going into drive, reverse, and park.As I said before, they replaced the output flange and it fixed the problem.
You're welcome, but my car didn't have the shake when shifting like you're talking about. My problem was a metal clank noise when shifting from park to drive or drive to reverse. Your dealer needs to call Ford's hotline, and maybe you should get in touch with a Ford customer servive manager.I...
My driveshaft was replaced, they lubed the splines. The noise disappeared for 100 miles, noise came back.My dealer then replaced the output flange, and after about 500 miles no noise. The dealer contacted Ford's engineering hotline and they said to replace the flange, and that they had many...
The dealer replaced the output flange on my car.Evidently, there are quite a few confirmed fixes with this repair. So far, so good no noise on mine. Also thanks to Mark and Deysha , who followed up on this fix.
Dealer called today and said they talked to Ford's engineering hotline. They orderd a new output flange per Ford, and will be installed later this week. The service adviser said Ford told her they are 7 confirmed fixes after they installed the new flange.I hope this is finally the fix for the clank.
Ford's dragging there feet on this one.Pretty sad they don't have a clue to fix this.I think it's a a trans issue , and it's going to cost them to fix it.This is a bunch of BS
The driveshaft isn't the problem. The dealer replaced my driveshaft and didn't fix the problem. The Ford "engineers" don't have clue what the problem is.
Jeff, I've posted on here numerous times about the clanking transmission in my car, as many others have. The Lincoln dealer that works on all my cars are terrific, but they tried the ds fix and it didn't work. They don't know whats wrong with it, does Ford have any ideas on a fix?
So,did they change the output flange and the sound came back?Did they replace the driveshaft? They changed my driveshaft and the noise came back, but they did'nt change the flange.
The dealer replaced the driveshaft, lubed output flange splines, replaced extension HSG seal. The noise completely disappeared for about a 100 miles, but lately, I hear a faint clank occasionally. I'll just wait til Ford has a permanent fix.
My passenger seat was loose from day 1.Dealer installed new bottom seat cover, was worse.Iguess next step is getting a upholstery shop to get it right.
