Streeda states ford performance rear brake is what is standard in the PP option trims: https://www.steeda.com/ford-performance-m-2300-mr-s550-rear-brake-upgrade-kit
That is what I thought, however, PP is thicker rotor and different pads... The caliper is the same except being power coated black: https://www.cjponyparts.com/ford-performance-rear-brake-kit-mustang-gt-ecoboost-2015-2017/p/M2300MR/
The PP rear brakes have thicker rotor and pads, perhaps that also contributes to the pedal feel... I looked at the image of non-pp and pp master cylinder; honestly I cannot see a drastic difference... I do have more travel before brake feel but it really isn't drastic by all means... if this...
I replaced them with the 6 pot calipers... One caliper I could see it was leaking from the seem in the middle and bolts as well... My car has 32k miles so never needed any brake maintenance on the 4 pots...
makes sense thanks; think the 4 pistons on base GT is poor design for the applications... One caliper looks like leaking from the seams and screws... They are two parts bolted together to make the caliper...uch happier with the 6 pots I installed ;-)
Do you still have your old calipers? My outboard pads where significantly more faded than the inboard pads... If it was just on one caliper I would say it was an issue with that caliper; however, both calipers showed same fading... Was yours like this? If not then that will assist me in...
I just replaced my stock 4 pot calipers with 6 pots. I noticed in both 4 pot calipers the outboard brake pad is worn significantly more than the inboard brake pad. Anyone else experience this? If not then I am thinking brake master cylinder is the culprit :-(
This took me 6 hours on jack stands doing all solo. Flushed all calipers and bled with high pressure bleeder using Motorcraft dot 4 fluid. LMR had a M-2300-V Ford Performance Brembo brake upgrade kit for $900 on eBay. I couldn't buy it fast enough LOL
I agree not saving money in brakes, why getting high pressure bleeder... only thing that comes to mind is; doesn't the manual clutch share same fluid from master cylinder? If I do a flush how do I make sure that is flushed as well?
Ford Performance sells the 6 pot upgrade for 4 pot specifically, does not mention master brake cylinder required as well... I do not track so works for me ;-). BTW Vorshlag mentioned the master cylinder in a blip, I did not see any data behind it...
I still have my 18in wheels after getting MRR M350 19x10... I will test fit the 18's after install and report back... Yes 1 inch larger rotor but that is half an inch to barrel and to me it all looks like it would clear...
I do not understand how the 18in does not fit brembos when the continental 4 piston is bigger. I just bought the m2300v kit and will be installing soon ;-)
