  1. Should i keep the mustang?

To the OP, sorry to hear about your problems, as a disabled vet I feel your pain. You say it's hard to get out of the car now, will the RS be any different? You may want to look at something like a 4Runner. Or a smaller truck, something you don't need to climb into. For what your talking about I...
  2. Should i keep the mustang?

This is funny. We have hundreds of miles of dirt roads. I find it more shocking that you think 6 miles on dirt is a long ways. I have friends that live down 30-35 miles of dirt roads. And a guy I work with has a 5 mile long motorcross track in the back half of his back yard. You need to get out...
  3. Cons of running straight headers?!

It's a sweet car no matter the rules. High 9's is more than respectable. I would be proud of it.
  4. Questioning my purchase of a 2016 Camaro

You could just add in some electric cut outs to the mustang and solve that issue.
  5. Cons of running straight headers?!

That thing looks like fun. Nice car. What is it running in the 1/4?
  6. Saw Petty's Garage S550 @ the Dealer !!!

57k to add a blower and only get 627hp? That's approx $91 per HP on top of buying the car. If you subtract out the 435hp from stock your $57k add on cost is it $192 per HP. Screw that.
  7. Questioning my purchase of a 2016 Camaro

Honestly, you need to go find a 16 came to and a 2016 GT and go drive them. After that you need to spend time combing over every inch of the car. Learn how everything functions, and then think about it before you decide. Only you can make the decision on how to spend your $$. We can sit and tell...
  8. California aftermarket exhaust law

There are many nice places all over the country with arguably better views than that's. But to each his own.
  9. Black Friday Purchases

All I got for Black Friday, was a bag of dog food (hey it was still 15% off) and I only got that's because if not my dog would have gone hungry. As the kids didn't let me know it was getting low, until it was gone. Otherwise I would have never left the house. I don't care how good the deals are...
  10. California aftermarket exhaust law

The best thing to do is move out of CA and get away from all the BS laws. The state has regulated away your ability to mod your car, buy the gun you want, and how much you can water your grass. Why on earth would any sane individual want to stay?
  11. what's the verdict on break-in?

Right or wrong, I drive every new car like I stole it. My last 2 trucks left the dealer sideways tires just screaming for mercy. The first one saw regular abuse on the track. Including a 175 shot of nitrous. The second one has lead a bit easier life. But not by much. I don't see any point in...
  12. Cons of running straight headers?!

Lack of back pressure will not cause valve float. Valve float is caused by a valve spring not being able to keep up with the cam lobe. If a lack of back pressure can overpower the spring pressure, you need to replace the worn out valve springs. Anyone who thinks "back pressure" is a good thing...
  13. Oem headers and exhaust? Sell/scrap or what

Ok I see that reasoning. I keep forgetting most people don't keep cars longer than a couple years anymore. I buy a car and never sell it. I drive them until they are unrepairable or u til they are wrecked and a total loss. So trading it in is not even a thought process I would consider.
  14. Timing gear and OPG

So you missed my comment about it being a low failure rate? But they have failed. So why not play it safe? Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. And both ways are good and bad. It's all a matter of what your willing to live with. Some will accept the risk, other want the piece of mind. I...
  15. Save for a supercharger or for another mod?

Why wait till spring? Build it over the winter so it's ready for spring. Seems way mo betta.
  16. What is the highest mileage car you have ever owned?

Man you guys are funny. I had an old 70's Chevy van that had about 350,000 on it. My old GM b-body had about 175,000, my 86accord had like 270,000 on it, I had a Camery that had 250,000+ miles. My current truck has 130,000 on it and my wife's car is at 105,000. My mustang is at 0 miles.
  17. Timing gear and OPG

I don't see what the big deal is. For me it's a non issue. Buy the parts and install them. But then again, I'm a bit biased, as I would prefer the strongest motor possible. Anything to improve reliability is worth it in my book. And I feel this should come before a flashy blower, headers, CAI...
  18. Save for a supercharger or for another mod?

Twin turbos, and forget about the iron lung. In the mean time save up some pennies and replace the OPG's and timing gear.
  19. Oem headers and exhaust? Sell/scrap or what

Your implying keeping stock parts so that if something happens you can put them back on for warranty. And that if flat out wrong. If you want to modify a car you better assume the risk that goes with it. If your concerned about warranty don't modify the car. It's that simple. Now if you were...
