I was at the Adelaide 500 yesterday and the Mustangs go well but look terrible. They look like those little Aussie Racing Cars.
I see in today's paper, Ryan Walkinshaw refuses to race the Camaro until the rules change and allow a chassis that doesn't require such a distorted look.
Supercars...
I've been waiting all week for more details on this... and nothing!
00racer you've got to let us know how this was done. I can see a slight variation in the colour of the centre unit so I'm guessing it's been cut and shut and recovered but then there's the handbrake change which would not have...
Thanks Burkey, I'm thinking of using the 1 3/4" Pacemaker. I'm guessing you used 1 7/8" for your blown application. Do you think the 3mm smaller diameter pipe makes any difference to the install or general clearance? (I also need your advice on tunes. You've probably noticed me procrastinating...
Thanks all.
I'm thinking retaining the factory studs should be one of the goals of a good install and this looks achievable. Why doesn't everyone use the factory studs?
For those who've had experience installing both 1 3/4" and 1 7/8", is there a difference with the install?
Is it easier to retain the factory header studs with 1 3/4"? Any other advantages of the smaller pipes or is it negligible?
Staying N/A and think 1 3/4" will be fine for my purposes and...
I was hoping this thread would fill with tales of successful home installs...
I'd love to fit some headers myself later in the year. Being Down Under, they'll be RHD but will still encounter similar issues, so it's great to read other peoples experiences and install tips.
I'm sure my warranty is only 3 years and so runs out March next year. There will be others like me who need to make a decision soon what to do.
I will be comparing the cost of extending the factory warranty and know this covers everything vs. my desire to fit headers and have a tune. I'm...
I spoke to spare parts and he was convinced the oil cooler failures were confined to the UK market and our coolers were specific to Aus.
Furthermore, if I was to change my cooler to a newer one with a part number that didn't match my VIN, Ford might not honour a warrantee claim related to my...
Interesting to hear.
Can you tell us what happened? You had the car booked for service and they initiated the replacement of the cooler without your input?
Had mine serviced yesterday and quizzed them about this issue.
My dealership has not seen a failure so far but they were well aware of it. I've got just over a year to run with my warrantee. One of their suggestions was to consider the extended warrantee but you shouldn't have to do this just...
The springs are great, seriously. Once they're on, you won't be taking them off again. Very comfortable with a perfect stance.
Any other changes to the rear might tip the ride comfort meter into the negative without sufficient gains for my needs. Whilst I take the car to a track occasionally...
Didn't feel the alignment sleeves were causing any problems and the jiggling was just that - no major shoving. Of the four big blue bolts (that you don't want to cross thread) it was only the front passenger one that was more difficult to get in.
Really like these springs (SP089/82). I've had...
Installed BMR CB005 cradle lockout and front brace CB006. Also added Steeda subframe alignment kit and billet shock mounts.

Installed all the bits - no drama.
Yet to drive far but initial impressions are good with the car feeling solid and planted on the road.
Thanks BMR and Steeda for your complementing parts.
