Just an update... He's a Helicopter Mechanic, and they guys from his shop are picking the car up to make it right as rain.

Muffler Delete. Resonator Delete. Install 28" glasspacks in place of resonator. Enjoy the compliments, and the $100 exhaust job that sounds better than the $1k nonsense people buy.

Because my dealership has their own in-house body shop, so they DEFINITELY want it to get approved because they'll be getting paid for the work. I'm doing that exact process, and crossing fingers.

That's exactly why I want it, but Ford doesn't have glass hoods as factory parts. It would be a drug deal on the part of the dealership's body shop.

They have allegedly updated the process. My local dealer is actually trying to see if they can work this out to replace my hood with fiberglass, with the understanding it would be voiding the corrosion warranty on the hood.

Warranty lady said it's now 5yr/60k warranty on paint. She's waiting for Ford to accept it, I'll know tomorrow. If approved, they're replacing the hood, and even redoing the vinyl on my hood, as well as a rental car. Fingers crossed.

I just found what looks like rust bubbles on the edge of the hood, above a headlight. Not happy.

It gets worse.

I hate the heat too much to get a black car ever again. White wasn't my first choice either, but I knew I would eventually wrap the whole car anyway.
