There's likely a setting somewhere in the system to select which version of the Mustang you have. (Base or premium) to allow the touch screen to change HVAC settings 100%. $363 is a legit price, is that with shipping included?
Yes they control HVAC from the touch screen. I'm planning to pull mine out this weekend, simply because it does a double-boot on startup, and I'm picky, so I'm going back to stock.
Yeah, they added the Carbon Fiber as an option, as well as Red, Blue, White, Black, and Green.
Let me put it this way... if I could remove this entire thread, I would- after all, I started it.
It's definitely not Android 7.1.1. They ALWAYS stick fake info in them. Even the one I have now says it's 7, but it's 6. Honestly, as long as it's 6, you're good, that has the important security and power features you'd want in a head unit. So it comes down to storage and ease of installation.
I can assure you that neither is likely Android 7.1 or Android 8, they're both probably 6.0.1 at most. (Like I have in my 8 inch model.) I've seen the Seicane model and considered it, but I don't remember if it had 2GB RAM and 32GB ROM like the 8" model. Also, the 10" one requires...
The company I was working with has decided to start selling them on their own, direct-to-customer from China. Another reason I keep losing respect for these manufacturers, that's just what they do. Steal the idea, and profit.

If you like having your hopes and dreams crushed by cheap Chinese hardware, poor software development, garbage translation, and wasting money on it at the same time- go for it.
If you're ready to buy NOW, then you can safely go forth with another unit. I want to make sure I've personally tested this new one to the max, and can use this thread as a reference for questions people will have, and that means it will be at least a few weeks before I know more.
So far it's looking very promising, but I don't want to spill all the beans at once. When that happened with the Tesla Unit, some hard-chargers thought it would be a good idea to start mass contacting the vendor and that's when support for it stopped on their end.
Random update. There seems to be good news in the future. I'm posting this as a reminder to myself, and as a teaser for those still stuck with a Base radio.
You seem to think you can accomplish more than I did, with 3 generations of the unit over a couple years time.
Best of luck. I stick around to warn people, not to encourage them to waste money or time.
