  1. Do Not Buy A Used car!!!!!

Not so much a ripoff as a universal shortage of vehicles. New car availability has been tight because of a number of supplier shortages including the chip shortage which probably wont catch up for at least a year. Due to supply and demand this has caused a increase of used car prices. My son...
  2. 20" Wheels? What's the Point?

As long as you don't have any PP option, Brembo Brakes, the spare tire kit will work. I ordered that kit as soon as I ordered my '18 and am glad I did. The first winter I hit a chuckhole I couldn't see and tore the sidewall.
  3. Max octane Gen 2 as far as the PCM is concerned

The Ford hp rating of 460 is using 93, I believe that is max available.
  4. Tire Discounters scratched my rim

Ya that sucks. I always buy my tires at Tirerackcom and have them shipped to one of their local accredited tire shops to have them installed, never had a problem. Don't care for Tire Discounters either.
  5. Jack / Jack Stands ?

Get yourself a set of jacking rails, I got mine from BMR, they mount inside of the pinch welds. Then you can place a jack/jackstand anywhere along the rail instead of the two points on the pinch rails.
  6. AMSOIL or Motorcraft, which one is better?

If your concerned about oil consumption the difference will be in the weight not brand. Street use Amsoil 5w50 is not going to be any much different then any other top brand 5w50 full synthetic.
  7. For Those who have an A10 GT.....2018-2021

My '18 GT with the 10r80 is a blast. Same issue here, I sold my '03 GT 5 speed and bought the '18 due to bad knees. In normal mode up to about 3/4 throttle or so it will skip 2nd and 4th, at low throttle it will feel like it slips because the programming shifts up early but that's normal...
  8. Which gas do you guys use?

I have run regular in my "18 GT since day one with no issues. Ford recomends it, even though the advertised hp rating of 460 is from premium. To the one reply that mentioned less horsepower from regular due to engine knock, that's backwards. The engine is designed for regular and the...
  9. Are some dealers really this stupid?

I think its more the salesman then the dealer. My salesman that I have dealt with for over 15 years has always asked or stated, "You don't really want the front plate bracket or dealer decals, do you?". I live in Ohio and am glad that I didn't have then mount the front plate bracket now that...
  10. 2K Rattle Clue - Took video in engine bay...

Right or Wrong, believe Ford or not, the Coyote Gen 3 is one of the noisiest engines around. I keep complete records on my '18 GT, now with 25K+ miles. I change oil and filter 4-5K miles, put Ceratec in at second oil change to quiet the bbq rattle, and send my oil sample to Blackstone Labs...
  11. Road-tripped the new car home! + hail dent, owner's supplement, and winter tire Qs

Great Find. Anyone suggesting driving on summer tires at anything below 45F likes to live dangerously. Besides the side note of summer tread on snow which can be compensated with a good right foot the bigger issue is the lose of traction due to hard tire at low temps and risk of failure...
  12. “Next Gen” Mustang Will be Electric (EV) Only Claims Autoline

The article I read direct from Ford stated that in/by a Mustang EV would be available, it didnt say anything about replacement.
  13. Who is breaking the law over front license plates?

When I bought my '18 my salesman,(bought my '03 from him too), even told me the front bracket would be in the trunk if I needed it. I live in Ohio, first thing I did was get a bracket that attached to the lower grille. This past July Ohio removed the front license requirement and I removed it.
  14. New 2020 GT350 HEP engine failure

My question is to all those suggesting to try to buy the original block back. The one item I disagree with is that whether you have the original block or not the value of the vehicle is what's in it. When selling it having the original block will help but the resale value will still be less...
  15. I don't know if my car is actually starting in quiet mode...

I probably run mine in quiet mode 75% of the time with my wife in the car. No matter if I shut it off in quiet mode or I shut it off in normal mode when I start the car it is louder for a couple of seconds. Mine is garaged so it is easy to hear the difference. That is normal operation.
  16. Old fart here

68 here. Been driving Mustangs since 1970, my 4th is my '18 GT 401A Premium 10r80. Had to sell my '03 GT 5 speed due to bad knees. Got the variable exhaust to appease the wife due to migrains but by myself its mostly in Sport mode.
  17. Ford... What is your problem? GT500 owners, you need to read these quality control issues...

Well that sucks. Sounds more like a Shelby issue then Ford, the GT's don't have those issues.
  18. No one likes my 2018 GT

Sad to say, too much internet and social media. Most street pulls are done between friends. Maybe also its a age thing, around here most of my Mustang drivers are older, the same seems to be with Dodge. The performance Camaro's seem to be younger.
  19. Is this the norm at dealerships?

It's not shady, that's how dealer negotiations work. Unless you're a long time customer they are not going to offer you their best rates. Banks do the same thing.
  20. Do you Daily your Mustang?

All four of my Mustangs, dating back to my first, '69 Sportroof 302 and my current '18 GT, have been daily year round drivers here in northern Ohio.
