Props to you, you have your priorities straight ... those kids will always remember that car. When we were very young our grandfather had an old war surplus jeep with an overdrive which was engaged through a knob on the dash ... we were always hollering "Pull out the ball grandpa"!
From past experience (2 stroke MX bikes and ATVs) the oiled filter is better for dusty environments, but you have to oil them properly i.e. follow the directions. It's very easy to over oil them. There used to be a spray on oil for this application that was a little more forgiving. I would think...
No debate, it's no doubt a much better track car, but my son has a modified EVO and I can't let him beat me at Thunder Valley
Btw, Tim Wilkerson with LRS Racing won FFC at Phoenix today with a Blue Oval and Shelby on the nose of his car ... prolly no Ford parts involved though, lol.

BTW, I'm in Tonkawa, near Ponca City ...
I would think a simple thermostat switch or valve on the pump would keep from overcooling the tranny. Does the factory pump run constantly? Is it electronic or mechanical? I hadn't thought about overheating the cats but that might be a valid concern.
Order Confirmed
Got confirmation of my order today, tech package, orange with OTT black stripe; now the waiting begins, lol. BTW, paid MSRP, no markup.
