I am one who refuses to buy a EV because it won't go over 300 miles. I make a trip several times a year to the beach and its around 350 miles. Not uncommon for use to drive late at night, also not uncommon to drive in heavy rain..We also take our dogs.

I agree we need to find a better solution then gas cars.
BUT how about instead of " we are goignt o make gas high and force you to buy one"

If I had offered to bet you $500 in 1970 a small block Mustang on small slicks would run low 8's in the QTR mile would you have taken it?

My thinking is remember the CFL light bulb and how it was " super great" until the LED bulbs came out? That is what I think will happen to all these electric car..Some new technology ( no clue what ) and all of a sudden " EV JUNK"
I remember my 1983 had 175 and was shocked when they announced the 210 HP was coming out.
Move forward It was also funny when my 2013 non turbo 4cyl Accord was 187 HP :)
Does anybody else remember the Honda CRX car from the 80ās. Got 50
mpg and wasnāt any smaller then these little cars I see today.
I had one with 130k ( when cars didnāt last like today ) and still was getting 45 mpg.

Never happen, look up the net worth of almost any politician. Find one that hasn't worked in the private sector and ask " how do you become a multi-millionaire in a few years making $200K a year"
I have said this before, if you want to truly reduce emissions do a few things.
Make it favorable for companies to let employees work remote, bet levels were way down in 2020 and 2021. Not sure how but some sort of tax credit. Companies will get creative.

I was ready to buy a tesla last year until I checked and it was going me the same to charge it for a 300 mile trip ( tesla charging station ) as a tank of gas!! We don't have a way to charge it at home.
Plus we do a 350 mile beach trip several time's a year and often its at 2am or pouring down...
Only takes one hack and a big withdrawal and you have a mess.
My bank sent me one but I locked it and never use it.
Instead I use my double points card and get 2% back on all purchases.
