UPDATE:
Ford IS replacing the vehicle. My CSR told me that it is approved, needed to know if i wanted a buyback or replacement(I chose replacement) and said that the RAV rep will contact me within 5 business days.
So hopefully this will be coming to an end within the next few weeks here.
That makes me feel real confident of possibly getting a 2018 as a replacement. Crappy luck man, time to get it to a dealer and see what is up.
I should be hearing from Ford tomorrow. Praying that they agree to do a replacement vehicle. I’ve found what I want, and they are going to make...
UPDATE
I called my CSR and asked her to start the review for the replacement of the vehicle. I mulled it over this weekend, and I honestly think that it is going to be the best case for me to have it replaced and not have to worry about it in the long run.
I know there is a good change my...
I would be the other one that is having engine issues. Dealer keeps telling me they cant get the one head I need to get the car back on the road.
I called and got a case number, and I honestly plan to push for a vehicle replacement at this point. My car was towed in on saturday march 3rd and...
Honestly, if you are still within the 3/36k warranty, which it sounds like you are then I would think getting a hold of ford and starting a case wouldn't be a terrible idea.
If i could get the long block vs short block, I'd be thrilled. I definitely understand even a new engine there can be problems, but I feel like the risk for problems would be a lot less compared to semi-rebuilding with a short block.
We shall see I guess. The thing Im worried about too, is...
That sucks man. Hopefully they can get it in some time soon to get the repairs going. I just got in touch with a ford customer service rep regarding mine. Not sure what all is going to happen, but I am now at 23 business days without a car, so my patience is growing thin. The dealer mine is at...
UPDATE:
Talked to the Ford CSR today.
She basically made it sound like they were going to expedite getting a cylinder head to the dealer. I told her that I really don't feel comfortable with the repair consisting of a short block and cylinder head, and she didn't know and wasn't able to tell...
Cant say that they don't care, its really not the dealers fault to be honest. They have been great to me, minus the lack of communication. I would have thought they would be the one calling me, and I honestly have never gotten a call from them since this started. I have been the one that has...
The sad part about the whole thing is that I have been a fairly loyal ford customer, and owned numerous ford vehicles..
1987 Mustang gt
1993 Explorer
2001 Focus
2014 Escape
and currently own
2016 Escape
2017 Mustang GT
Hopefully they can get a long block approved or get something going to...
UPDATE:
Called the dealer today to see where things were at. Still no cylinder head in their possession.
I have contacted Ford, and the Area CSR will be getting in touch with me within the next day.
Time for a new motor. Mine has the same issue and has been in the dealer since the beginning of the month.

Heres my thread. If yours...
So, they are literally going to re-build the motor... I was under the assumption that what they were ordering was the block and rotating assembly, pre-assembled, and then transferring over one cylinder head and replacing another.
Yikes.
I was told what they were ordering was a complete...
