  1. Change oil before each trackday, novices too?

I do a fair number of track days each year, so I change my oil frequently. I figure a fresh oil change is good for 2 track days depending on how hot it is and road mileage in between. If it were me, I would definitely change the oil in your car prior to my next track day. I also like to...
  2. Will my car survive track days?

I did this, just last month. It's been amazing. https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/super-cheap-s550-brembo-upgrade.138471/
  3. Will my car survive track days?

Again? Really? https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/tracking-the-ecoboost.75153/ I've been tracking my Ecoboost since 2016. In 2018, I did a total of 10 track days. Nothing on this car has failed. It hasn't even been to a shop except for oil changes, tires, alignments and upgrades. Just...
  4. Indy 500 in the rain

Truly one of this tire's strongest points. I have had 2 sets of these tires. Never, ever have I had a problem in the rain.
  5. Parking brake stuck on

I had this exact problem on my 2015 ecoboost. I replaced the left side parking brake cable. Problem solved. Not a hard job, fairly inexpensive part. I might have also been able to fix it by taking the parking brake cable off and lubricating it, but choose to go the replacement route.

  8. S550 vs C6 Corvette

I have only ever been behind the wheel on track in the S550, but have ridden shotgun as in instructor in a couple of C6's. The C6 is a remarkably potent vehicle. My experience was that a chimp could be fast in a C6, even with all season tires. I love my S550...everything about it...looks...
  9. Mustang GT Non performance pack 4 piston brakes - Track use

I've been pounding on the 4 piston calipers on track for the last 4 years. I'm consistently within the top 10% of whatever group I'm running, usually intermediate, but often advanced groups. I have only had one problem with these brakes, they faded badly at the end of a 120 mph back straight...
  10. Cold weather track days?

Woke up on a fine Noverber morning at Summit Point to find frost covering my car. It was not an issue after a few tentative laps. Baring ice, cool weather is much better than hot weather to run a track day. Heat is the enemy of nearly everything in or on your car.
  11. This is it!

Well, Okay. The Mustang is not, nor never will be a 997 GT3. Step one, get rid of the Pirelli P-Zero. Step two, get the same size tires and wheels all the way around.

  13. Michigan Ecoboost PP wheels with tires

Hi, I have a similar set of wheels and tires for sale. I was just wondering how and where you sold them? Did you get your asking price?
  14. Ecoboost Performance Pack Brakes for HPDE

I daily drive the Hawk Street/Race pads as well. They seem to work OK in all weather conditions and have good initial bit and staying power on track. If I were truly smart, I should probably swap them out over the winter, but even in sub-zero weather they work just fine. They are extremely...
  15. Ecoboost Performance Pack Brakes for HPDE

I have a 2015 EB PP with the stock 4 piston calipers. I have done 10 HPDE events this year and haven't had any issues with brake fade or over-heating. I use DBA discs (I can confirm that the cooling vents are the same as stock), Hawk Street/Race pads and Motul RBF 600. I've heard that the...
  16. Ecoboost Manual Clutch Choices

Your options are limited at best. I went with a Fidanza Aluminum Flywheel and Mcloed Ceramic disc. I truly hated it and went back to stock 6 months later. The flywheel was so light it didn't dampen the vibrations from the engine and that cause the input shaft to chatter at idle. The disc bit...
  17. Roasted Dust Boots on 4 Pot Calipers

Mine looked a little better than that...but not by much. After 2 years of heavy track use, there wasn't much left.
  18. Roasted Dust Boots on 4 Pot Calipers

Well crap... I would have posted "Pictures in Race Mode" a long time ago if I'd known.
  19. Roasted Dust Boots on 4 Pot Calipers

Found this: https://www.carid.com/racingbrake/complete-caliper-rebuild-kit-mpn-bf-41bsp.html?singleid=724534626&url=3281392 But at $330 bucks, it seems a bit ridiculous.
