Not sure what you mean, but I never modified the cover. It didn't seem to fit right so I just removed it and then reinstalled and it snapped into place! LOL. I guess the Ford tech didn't do it right.
I just upgraded the cheap paper filter that comes with this kit to the better Ford Performance washable filter. Guess what? It actually came in an AirAid box! If I had known I would have ordered a red AirAid rather than Ford blue!
AirAid part numbers.....blue. 863-399. Red. 861-399...
I just put the stuff in the trunk (box doesn't fit!) and let the dealer do it all. I have no experience with tuning, etc. I don't plan on ever going back to stock so don't care whose name it's under.
I just had this done last week. The dealer charged me for 2 hours work = $219.90. But my sound tube was already removed. The engine cover does not totally snap on in the front but it's secure enough. It would need to be trimmed. I have no idea which tune they used but it's my understanding...
That's the exact exhaust I've had for 2 years now. I love it but can't compare to what you have now. It's very well made and fit perfectly. It became a bit louder last week when I added the Ford Performance Power Pack 2. It is a little raspy at times but no drone and pleasant on the highway.
I just had PP2 installed last week on my automatic. So far I am loving it. I went this route to keep what's left of my warranty. Each pack level is stand alone and adds more to the one before it. PP1 is just a tune, PP2 adds a cold air intake and larger throttle body, PP3 includes all that...
Nice job! My shop also put the volume knob in the center console but they made a new hole for it. Very stealth! They also put a 600 W JL amp UNDER the drivers seat! Yes, it does fit but barely! It has never overheated, even on a long trip.
You are right, the sound difference is amazing...
A bit off topic, but I'm laughing at how similar your mods are to mine! I have a 2015 with PP2 just installed, FRPP Borla touring exhaust, JL Stealthbox with 600 watt JL Amp, FP Strut tower brace, and JLT oil separator. Where did you put the amp? Mine is under the drivers seat.
I just had my PP2 and tune done at a dealer on 6/14. Does this mean I got the updated tune? I have an automatic and it seems to be running great so far! I'd like to avoid updating if nothing to be gained.
It's the JL XD 600 sub amp. The seat was removed and the amp attached to the carpeting in a small well under the drivers seat. The power seat can still move but just brushes the top of the amp. No heat problems in 7 months of use. A volume control knob is installed in the center console...
I have the JL Stealthbox and the JL amp is mounted under the drivers seat. Out of sight, out of mind. It just works! No photos...can't see it! Stealth!
Not planning on upgrading the other speakers. For some reason they sound better since adding the Stealthbox! It is a huge difference! The Amp is a 600 watt JL Audio subwoofer amp (don't have the model number handy) and there was just enough clearance to mount it under the driver seat with a...
I added the JL Audio Stealthbox sub in the trunk and 600 watt sub amp under the seat. Not cheap but the sound difference is amazing! And it looks great too.
The amp is a sub amp and just powers the sub in the trunk. They connected the sound from the rear deck speakers under the rear window. The amp is powered with a direct wire to battery terminal Under the main fuse box in the engine bay.
