Those published numbers are clearly not right. The 2015 has significantly less headroom for rear passengers. Probably closer to 34" than 35". For further comparison, the Audi S3 (4 door but has small back seats and low roof line) offers 36.1" and BMW 2-series has 36.5" which is not great either...

Fully agree with waiting on official crash test ratings. Any car build in 2015 should have the maximum possible safety rating. Of course until IIHS/NHTSA come up with a new type of test and they all fail miserably again.

The A3 was already voted "world car of the year". The GTI while improved is not that significantly different. Remember Randy Pobst commented that the traction control is still too intrusive. The others have been enhanced but none have gone through a Mustang type transformation.

In Europe all cars will have PP standard. I agree it is frustrating though how the competing cars picked by most reviewers have a similar price for a bare bones version with zero options and usually a much lower power engine.

35 US mpg = 42 imp mpg for the 428 but the reviewer conveniently omitted to adjust the Ecoboost mileage accordingly. The imperial rating for the Ecoboost auto is about 38.5 mpg. Not that big of a big difference (9%) considering the BMW has a 8-speed and a smaller less powerful engine. And...

You are completely correct. I sat in a Hellcat last weekend and the seats were too wide for me (6 1" and 200 lbs) despite being a transplanted fatted up European. BMW/Audi seats hug me nicely though.

42mpg for a 428i, yeah right. The actual EPA numbers are 35mpg for the 428 and 32mpg for the 435. Good numbers for sure thanks to the 8speed auto but 42mpg is still turbo diesel territory.

Reviews by these amateur drivers are worthless. We really need Randy Pobst to drive it. Motortrend has been testing the M4 and others including the S550 to determine the best driver's car of the year. Can't wait to see the results.

Even a manual 6 speed Mazda 3 with the 2.5 engine (measly 185 HP) only gets 35 on the highway and 26 city. The Audi S3 2.0 turbo has less power/torque than the Ecoboost and is rated at 31 highway / 23 city. So the Ecoboost engine gets similar mileage to the latest Audi technology and has 6%...

How is that? A 2015 BMW M4 has 55% residual after 36 months/15K miles which is 4% worse than the GT. Same for the 24 month lease: 61% for M4 and 65% for GT. The money factor and fees will be a different story but residuals look good to me.
