It's true, datalogging might help, I can't deny that. But I feel that would be pretty much min/maxing for like 0.1-0.2 sec. I'm rather certain that my problem is with the basics of launching and shifting. I will have someone else run my car on Friday and use that as a benchmark.
Unfortunately that does not answer my question. I can't lift the car with jack stands. Again, I need to know if I can use the trolley jack on the pinch weld locations circled in the picture that I linked to.
Sorry for reviving, but I'm new to this and after reading multiple threads I have so much conflicting and confusing information that I would like you guys to comment on what my understanding of jacking points is.
Purpose:
I go to the track at least 3 times a month and want to spare my 20"...
I have not data logged because MPT says it's not required. I'm going to the track on Friday and will do the following:
- Swap my octane and tune to 91 prx
- Swap my rear tires to my stock 17"
Another thing to note is that the track I go to is supposedly not prep'd for test and tune events.
I have mpt right now. 89 prx because 89 octane was in the tank. I'm low right now and will mix 91 when I can get 89 as low as possible. Once I run the mix down, I will fill up with 91 and switch to 91 prx.
Also checked my wheels, they are 28lb front/29lb rear.
I'm running 89 MPT race tune right now (about to switch to 91), but even then I'm below stock numbers. I have 285 tires with 20" wheels which are heavy but still.
Anyhow, what RPM have you guys tried launching at with stick? I think my best runs came from launching at around 2/2.5k
Hey all,
Been going to the track lately to have a good time with friends, but competitive me just isn't satisfied each time I go because my times are absolute shit.
My best 1/4 was 14.9 before I got a tune from MPT. With a tune I ran 14.9. Before everyone starts yelling driver mod (duh...
Just got my MPT tune installed in my car. Wow...I didn't expect it to make that much of a difference. The tune does make the car feel lighter and pull harder, and I'm only running 87-89 tune! (Which will be my winter tune). Can't wait to try 91. Definitely a good buy.
So my buddy and I were talking about what mods I should do next and he mentioned that gears would be a good one. Then he said that his GT 3.31 gears and my 3.15 gears might be interchangeable and that we should swap our differentials (he has a procharger so he wants longer gears).
Question is...

Hello all,
Figured I'd post about my experience with the GT strut tower brace on my V6. In my opinion it's not worth it and I would wait until a proper brace is made for V6. Here is why:
- Clearance - as is, the brace does not clear our intake manifold. After the adjustments below, the brace...
Hey all,
Just picked up BBK shorty ceramic headers and found out that local shops want $500+ to install the damn things:doh:. I did not see that coming and wondering how difficult it is to install shorties? Can someone with experience chime in on this? I'm not mechanically inclined but do...
