Thanks for the advice and for posting the video. Yeah, once I heard the tick, I fricken ALWAYS hear it now, and it drives me bonkers. Makes the car sound like a cheap piece of poo, IMO. I've ordered some of the Ceratec and will give it a try! I have that 2k rattle (sounds like knocking to me)...
Hmmm... well functional quarter window scoops would be exponentially more complicated, since my car is a convertible. Yeah, probably doesnāt make sense to do. But.....
I know many people talk smack about cosmetic (non-functional) scoops. Personally, I really like the look of the scoops (maybe it's the Eleanor fan in me), but am also annoyed that they don't do anything. I have a set of these in Magnetic Metallic to match my 2018, but have been hesitant to put...
Yup! I can confirm that with the A10 and the car is remote started, opening the hood kills the engine on purpose. (Used to install aftermarket remote starts, and that's pretty common now)
Hey Sigster,
Yeah, the transformation has started. The spoiler was a bit annoying to install. Turned out fine but really... how hard would it have been to design the spoiler so it used the factory holes? Not 2 inches away on 1 set of holes and 1/4ā away on the other. Had to elongate one of the...
Thanks for the quick reply! They replied to me on messenger and said not to worry and that Iāll be fine, but it is good to hear from others and I appreciate the little extra detail. LOL Yeah, iāll Continue with the install and post some pics. Letās see how the little Dremel tool does at cutting...
Thanks for such an amazing and thorough thread! Iāve learned more from you build than I thought possible! LOL
I bought the Big Mouth intakes and have my bumper off and insert removed, getting ready to make the cuts. However, thereās very few holes in the stock pieces, so Iām wondering if you...
Yeah. Sucks it is so expensive now. Wasn't long ago you could get the active mufflers for $400 for both! I did find someone with a used muffler set up (actually full stock cat-back) with the active mufflers, minus the actuators of course. I"ve been a fan of Magnaflow ever since the early days of...
Hi Roppolo_5oh! Thanks for your inputs on this thread. There's lots of info but it is a bit hard to find what we are looking for with now 24 pages of posts. lol I found your post #455 on page 23, and you mentioned the parts needed if someone has the harness at the back plus the fuse & relay at...
Alrighty..... Here's the summary and lessons learned!
More thought on the big question of "Buy a Rental" or "Not"-
I know there were many that advised against it, but as a guy that rents cars A LOT for work, and works with many people who rent cars A LOT, I was able to have quite a few...
Hey! My name is Rob, and I'm now the proud owner of a 2018 Mustang GT Convertible in magnetic metal metallic. Been a Mustang guy since I was a kid. My Dad bought a candy apple red 1968 coupe (with the straight 6) brand new in '68 and drove it off of the showroom floor. I bought it from him once...
Hi all! Been digging through this thread, but it looks like the latest part numbers we have for the OEM active valve muffs are JR3Z-5230-FA & JR3Z-5230-FB, but those show as discontinued. Does anyone have the latest p/nās for the OEM mufflers? Thanks!
I'm planning on getting some wheels and tires anyway, so depending on what those crazy tires are, they might just be the winter/cold weather tires. (Which it hardly will get driven in the winter, which is why I have my 2006 Navigator.) I already asked about those, and got some photos, and the...
OP here.
Thanks everybody for the input! Again, lots of varied opinions.
Too many good comments to quote, but I am planning on giving it a good once over and there's a Ford Dealer that is 3 miles away. Going to see about taking it there for a once over. I have my ODB sensor and am hoping they...
Thanks everyone for the input so far! Very interesting and varied opinions!
HAHA! You win for the best quote so far! When I got my ā14, which was a rental, I did feel a little dirty. Lol But its been a great car and I fricken love it! Now though, Iāve gotten the itch to move up to a GT, and...
WOW! Is that Floodfordesp.com? Is that legit? Premium (essentially a bumper to bumper) 5 year 60k miles with a $100 deductible for $655? That seems really good!
Thanks for the advice. Yeah, i know how I treat rentals, but given the price and how hard it is to find 2018 Convertible GTās (in Ruby, Magnetic, or Lightning) that isnāt a rental, I am willing to give it a go. Plus, still covered under the Ford warranty and drivetrain till 60K. I do get where...
Thanks Cobra Jet for the quick reply.
10 speed auto, and still has about 7K left on the main factory warranty, plus of course the 60k powertrain. Extended is $1700 for addt'l 3yr or 36K or 1900 for 5 yr 60k. I paid MUCH less for for the 3 yr 36k. But also a smaller lot, not a Ford...
Hey! So I am trading in my 2014 V6 vert premium and upgrading to a used 2018 GT Convertible Premium. Seems like 80-90% of them out there were rentals. I took the risk with my '14 which was also a rental, and other than some pretty good valance chips and a few scratches, it really has been an...
