  1. 5W20 vs 5W30 in the Midwest for a car that frequently takes long trips

I run 5w30 in my 2019. For some reason Ford changed the requirement to 5w30 in the later mustangs (i think 21+?) with no engine changes. I believe 5w20 is only for emissions/fuel economy and i feel a lot better running a little thicker oil in texas heat/oil consumption.
  2. 2018 GT Premium PP1 steering wheel wiring harness

So glad to hear you were able to get this sorted without affecting anything! Enjoy the drive!
  3. 2018 GT Premium PP1 steering wheel wiring harness

Sad to say, its most likely part of the whole dash harness and you also cannot cut and splice in the connections you need, because any of the yellow wires are part of the air bag system which requires specific resistances to function properly without disabling it and setting an airbag light...
  4. Can anyone ID this engine sound?

I've had this sound since my first oil change and im at 35k now. Its never been an issue and is very common and 85% of these engines have a very similar sound.
  5. Cure for the "Tic"?

https://www.liqui-moly.com/en/us/cera-tec-p000017.html#20002 Works for me.. Its not cheap, but i feel its worth it.
  6. Side mirror issues

Wondering if anyone else has this issue or had it completed after the warranty was out? Mine has this issue pretty badly, especially when cold. I have to press one of the memory buttons to make it stop or it will keep going for up to 30 seconds.

  8. The sound difference in exhaust modes.

I made this driving video awhile back showing all the exhaust modes.. Maybe it'll help to hear the differences.
  9. The sound difference in exhaust modes.

The easiest way i can explain it is as follows: the valves are mostly open all the time at idle (except for quiet) the differences come in with rpm/load/throttle % Normal will really start to close over 1/2 throttle and higher rpms - sounding quieter at full throttle Sport will begin to open...

  12. That Stangmode guy ran an S650 A10 in the 1/4 mile - either car is slow or he cant drive

It was 36k out the door with 9k miles. It was $50.3k new according to the sticker. i got a pretty deep discount through work and i bought it in DEC '19 right before everything went crazy in March.
  13. That Stangmode guy ran an S650 A10 in the 1/4 mile - either car is slow or he cant drive

As much as i love technology, i have no interest in paying $50-$60k for a car that only looks different inside and outside when my 401A PP1 '19GT that cost half as much and has all of the features of the s650 ( and in my opinion more capable due to the ECM lock) It's nothing more than a...
  14. Evap leak location found where could it be

The vent valve is always normally open. This is what draws fresh air into the tank. You need to manually close it with a higher level bi-directional scan tool and then re-run the smoke test to find the true source of your leak.
  15. Piston slap or normal

Sounds exactly (or quieter) than mine. These engines are inherently loud with direct injection and 32 valves. Perfectly normal to my ears.
  16. Name something on your Mustang that's working as designed and is really irritating.

The power mirrors try to auto adjust against the stops for 5-7 seconds whenever i get in. It seems to be happening more often now... 😞
