That honestly sounds like the problem. Like I said, this is a small self-owned shop that the Ford dealership here said to go to because they do not do any work like that. They outsource all the exhaust jobs to this one guy because he does a great job they said. I'm HOPING he didn't f**k up my...
THANK YOU!!! I honestly figured it was a support hanger/clamp issue, and come to think of it I can think of the area right now. It's not a leak because there's no "pop". It's a musical type of resonance that is driving me mad. Did they say it was just an adjustment that was needed with the...
I've come to the conclusion that it's an installation error and that one of the support hangers underneath the vehicle were not tightened properly or fully.
Is there any fix if the seal isn't 100% at one of the clamps? There has to be something that can be done... this pisses me off even more thinking about it because this is the guy that the Ford dealership recommended and the same guy they use to fix all of their exhaust issues for customers. They...
Yeah he was about to start cutting without asking me and I was watching of course, but I said, "WOAH WOAH WOAH you don't need to cut anything! It's a direct bolt-on system!" then he came over and explained himself that, "not all exhausts will always fit 100%. Sometimes slight adjustments need to...
It is NOT drone. I can guarantee that 100%. It is, like I said, a musical type of note almost when accelerating. Could be one of the pipes not being sealed correctly which is what I'm leaning towards right now... I think the guy f***ed up something when he cut 2" off. not sure why.
We shall see. I'm going back to him today to show him what's happening. I don't know if I would be able to take legal action against him for something like this (his "profession" opinion of 30 years was that not all exhaust systems fit every car and some slight modifications may be necessary to...
It sounds great, but I'm about 99% sure that the guy who installed it at the muffler shop that the Ford dealership in Meridian, MS recommended didn't install it 100% right. He ended up cutting 2" off to make the exhaust fit perfect (he said). I'm incredibly nervous that my $1,400 system is FUBAR...
That's my big gripe... I'm calling the guy this morning and talking this shit through. He'll probably end up having to order a new one for me, quick fix this current one, and I'll install it myself using the CJ Pony Parts installation video.
I'm thinking that's the smart course of action. It could be him not fully hanging the exhaust supports properly with the installation. This whole thing has pissed me off.
I just had my new Ford Racing by Borla exhaust installed today. Sounds great, aggressive, tight, but I have one question/complaint:
There seems to be this sort of ringing pipe noise whenever the rpms get 3k+ and comes and goes when I accelerate only. Is this a normal noise from an aftermarket...
JUST received a text from UPS telling me my Ford Racing Borla Touring Catback Exhaust arrived... bout to leave work, pick it up, then go get it installed. :ford:
