  1. Naming your car

It's a car, a thing. I enjoy my car and love it, but I do not name it or refer to it as if it has a gender. It's a car :)
  2. MGW Shifter and Barton T-Handle Knob

Thread on the MGW is the same as the stock shifter ball M12x1.25. Same as the Barton.
  3. Bit of Advice (yes more help) :-)

    $75 in the US.
  4. Bit of Advice (yes more help) :-)

Yeah, definitely recommend OBDLink MX. Been using it to monitor my Speed6 once I got it running. No problems and fast data transfer!
  5. 15 to 18 GT, Worth It? Deadline 4/2 to Decide

Just make her drive your car. My gf has never driven a manual until I forced her to drive my Mustang. I do not know why but she is just so scared of driving my car. She thinks she will ruin it... Even though I tell her that I do not care and I can replace a burned clutch...even though that will...
  6. ZL1 Addons rock guards for s550 - full instructions with photos

Well mine survived another Chicago winter, and it was a doozie! I do not know if mine are deluxe or not since I bought them so long ago, but they are holding up. I have no issues with mine either with adhesion or rigidity/durability.
  7. Stock vs. Blowfish bracket vs. Steeda Tri-Ax vs. MGW vs. MGW + BG Syncroshift II

The version I had caused the lockout collar to start rattling above 3.5k RPM as I remember. But seems like they may have fixed that as per BmacIL comment above.
  8. Stock vs. Blowfish bracket vs. Steeda Tri-Ax vs. MGW vs. MGW + BG Syncroshift II

laardilla Absolutely no problem in stop and go traffic. Shifting with the MGW is really easy. I would just get the standard so that you have only a 15% throw decrease, which means you do not lose as much leverage when shifting when compared to 20%, 25% etc. throw decrease. I go to downtown...
  9. Stock vs. Blowfish bracket vs. Steeda Tri-Ax vs. MGW vs. MGW + BG Syncroshift II

Yeah, unless a person is really satisfied with the feel of the stock shifter, the MGW+BG combination makes this car shift so much better. The only complaint I have heard about mine is that it seems like fifth has a small gate and is harder to find. For me, after driving on this setup for nearly...
  10. BMR Tech Tip: Check those axle-to-spindle retaining nuts!

Yeah, I don't think that re-tightening the assembly will fix the issue. I wonder what type of thread does the nut have. Do new nuts come with with some type of chemical thread locker? I really wish that these nuts were cotter pinned to keep them in place. The interesting thing is that when I...
  11. Steeda's S550 Billet Rear Shock Mounts Are Finally Here!

Awesome. Definitely something that will help to protect the bearing. Hope to see it come to market soon!
  12. Steeda's S550 Billet Rear Shock Mounts Are Finally Here!

Haha same here. Especially how much snow we got this winter here in Chicago is insane! Hopefully my Mazdaspeed6 will be fired up in March! :headbang:
  13. Official 6G Shift knob pics thread

Awesome suggestions! I actually have an idea to make my own too. I will see if one of the guys at my company's machine shop would cut what I have in mind.
  14. Official 6G Shift knob pics thread

I'm not a bit fan of the Racesengs, but I will have to look. Maybe one of them will be nice. Thank you for the suggestions!
  15. Official 6G Shift knob pics thread

I currently have an Atlas back from the group buy days. I liked it at the beginning, but eventually became a bit too heavy. I run an MGW now and my Atlas will not fit over it :( But I feel like if we could make that knob a bit smaller, we could save some weight and I think it would sit a bit...
  16. Official 6G Shift knob pics thread

So is there anyone making custom shift knobs that weigh around the 300 gram mark? Everything I find is either above 500 grams, or the lighter ones are non-metal. Is there really no market for knobs that are a under 500 grams?
