I would imagine that they just let the woofer roll of and bass block from the processing in the radio. The tweeter may just have a cap on the back. I guess I will just have to explore!
I have installed OEM's harness and did the line level conversion module today. I really need to change out...
Chef, thank you. No issues with the stock wiring, completely agree.
What I am not clear on is just how the tweeter is wired on the base 6 speaker system. Is it just paralleled off of the woofer with an inline cap for a crossover? I want to completely bypass the factory crossover and install...
I have looked at the Crutchfield database for components and it appears that the vast majority of tweeters will not fit the stock location without modification. I am looking at the JL c3s as I have them in another car and am very pleased with their sound.
Has anyone not modified their stock...
I am looking forward to see how they mate also. I have an uninstalled ford550 pipe and have been following the tb thread as well. I am thinking that Fords pipe will be mismatched with the bigger tb. Hope not...
I reached out for a programmer for the base yesterday. As soon as he has one ready to ship I am on it. Details will follow. So far I have put in a 3 ch amp for subs and powering the fronts. I am not overwhelmed. I am waiting to go line level without processing before any more adjustments or...
I am curious about the pipe size where it mates to the throttle body. Bizkets and Feedits seem to be much larger that the Ford 550 version. How will this matter with a 80mm throttle body? Will the Ford550 or stock tube be usable with an 80mm tb?
My understanding is that it also removes the processing. Otherwise you would still have the bass roll off and severe clipping. I would contact OEM directly and he can give you the complete details.
I am very happy with my GT exhaust transplant with an H-pipe. I would say no drone and a much deeper than stock. I would be curious that difference between your system and the Borla Attack. I believe that the Attack is louder. Which component makes the change?
Well I finally started my new install. I wanted to mimic the sound I have in my daily driver that runs 2 -6" JL3v3 subs under the front seats and JL-C3 components with Alpine amps for power. The project is going to be done in stages to manage time and money vs. performance. It is a basic upgrade...
DMRD, with the install of "full range" speakers is the tweeter in the a-pillar still active? If so how does it sound with highs from both the tweets and the lower doors?
Thanks for the response Gil. I finally removed the screen and then the box behind it. Very tight squeeze! The harness is now wired in. Just left to do the battery work. Not sure it I will beat the football games...todays priority.
HELP!
I am working on installing my system and purchased the harness for behind the CD player from OEM. I have it all taken apart except I can not pull the CD player far enough out of the dash to disconnect the harness. It actually feels like the factory harness is not long enough to pull it...
Well it was more than I wanted to pay. Mild sticker shock but I feel with the possible combination of OEM's programming and the convenience of speaker and rca outputs I feel it was worth it. I think OEM should give you the quote as he may have different package pricing...
Well I finally got my GT exhaust installed and had the MRB GT H-pipe installed at the same time. I am very pleased with the results. Very throaty on startup and acceleration but at steady throttle it seems very close to stock. No rasp or drone with this system. It sounds just like the clip of...
