  1. Ford Axing all cars except Mustang and Focus Active Crossover in North America

Funny, after reading this news a week ago I started to notice SUVs and Crossovers in every parking lot and driveway. The new cars get around 24-26MPG anyway except for the higher HP versions like the Grand Cherokee , Pathfinder, Explorers...
  2. Which intercooler to get?

Cp-e is great if you plan not to upgrade the turbo. No delivery pressure drop or lag. My mechanic had to remove the grill shutters though, even though they advertise you can keep them on. You likely have to modify or cut into them.
  3. 2021 MUSTANG (S650) - 7th Generation Mustang Confirmed

If it is a 400 HP or equivalent performance 0-60 and 1/4 mile 32MPG or up, north of 40k would be for me. If they just come out with a hybrid that gets upper 13's, it will likely fail regardless of how much fuel you save. You know it's going to be more expensive than current model, so Ford really...
  4. Procharger guys on stock tranny and clutch

https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=81248 He blew the trans and then the engine in that order.
  5. new product:Ford Mustang EcoBoost FMIC ΔCore™ Front Mount Intercooler

I noticed a performance increase with the Cp-e and Ford Performance tune regardless of air temp. Especially in the higher RPM .
  6. 2018 Cobra Jet [Now Available For Orders]

What makes the car not street legal? Emissions? Tires? Suspension? Clearance? Do the doors even open? No insurance in their right mind will cover it? Will it bounce off a normal road?
  7. 2021 MUSTANG (S650) - 7th Generation Mustang Confirmed

Weight reduction while keeping safety legal standards and traction cost money. It's a 30 thousand dollar muscle car, not a 100 thousand dollar porch. Even at 3600-3800lbs, the rear wheels lift from the ground.
  8. Tune Recommendations

This was discussed a lot. Any dealer could deny warranty regardless of anything. Some sleazy outfits can go as far as because of the tires you had on your car. All depends on what dealership, your relationship with them, and how lucky you are. I remember slamming my Mazda into a curb and the...
  9. Tune Recommendations

I'd go ford performance/intercooler upgrade. You won't have a track star, but you also wont go broke. I then would concentrate on maybe a full pumpkin 3.55 or 3.73, traction, and handling. If you want to push it, you can always go with Lund. To me, without upgrading the turbo or gas mix, it...
  10. Ecoboost top speed

The limiter is really for the tires more so than the radiator. Radiator really more for the stress of a track. The stock intercooler would do more damage than the stock radiator.
  11. Ford Racing ProCal Tune

And the likely hood blowing your engine on the FP tune is virtually zero. At least under low millage and no other hardware mods an 91+ fuel.
  12. Sensor failings. You could have one too!

This explains why ford dealerships have been rejecting warranty work!!! (end sarcasm) In all honesty, this should be moved to the Maintenance forum and not the tune forum.
  13. Ford Racing ProCal Tune

Even if you are past the millage on your mustang there is something about a warranty that goes a long way with a tune. They back their product up with a promise. Not many tuners can do that.
  14. Max HP on your stang.

Kid is likely talking about Grand Tourismo on PS4.
  15. Pig rich AFR

F/A adjusts up to a certain point. It takes reprogramming to throw it out of wack . Ignition or Cam Valves seem more likely.
  16. No Boost

limp mode could mean a number of things to keep your engine from catastrophic damage. Best to check it with a mechanic - codes can be thrown without a CEL. But it does sound like heat/humidity issues. Condensation can build up quick and cause bad cooling on the intercooler.
  17. Cost to replace blown Ecoboom engine?

He is a tuner maxing out the engine. He is not going to advertise "Hi, I blow up engines " , but chances are, it might happen. Yet people still come on here everyday blaming a 4 cyl engine pumping over 400 lb torque or a undersized turbo pushing 22-24 psi into a aluminum block. Don't forget...
  18. Ford Racing ProCal Tune

SVO - the turbo releases pressure at peak and the power drops like a rock at higher RPM. At 6K on stock tune, air box, and intercooler, you are lucky to get 200 HP from the crank. Ford's charts are also read less than Dynojets. Read around Pg 115 and up and you will see some charts explaining...
  19. Interesting take on ecoboom.

Many variables and tolerances are being pushed. The turbo has pretty rudimentary sensors that can push the turbo into overboost, the direct injection might not be covering enough the cylinder/piston in higher RPM causing them to fry, and of course the engine itself has weak spots. It's not a...
  20. Help with Check Engine Code P144c

And with that risking burning up your exhaust parts prematurely.
