Intercooler, intake, FP tune, tires, brakes, suspension, .....'
Then if you want to go 2-3 years later on a bigger turbo, you will also need a down pipe. By that time though, you have spent 3-5 grand on the above and might just trade it in.
Make sure you plug your laptop into the car with the program running first- that way it gets the information needed like your vin. Then you have to carry it back to where your wifi to download the file.
The programming fields and variables have likely changed too. I am not sure what the guts of the programming contains since I never seen it. Just speaking out of general computer programming experience, tuners likely have a computer program that displays the fields laid out in the map that can...
Had it for over a year with about 12-14k miles no issues. Just keep 93 octane in it, and find good brand gas stations like Exxon, Sunoco, Shell, BP...

There was a tune revision - small letter change - something about a little dead spot in 3rd gear. I actually reprogrammed mine a day ago for the updated revision and didn't notice a change.
You can always copy over the calibrations folder over from your old lap top first.
Heatsoak not just from the intercooler, but you also have a small turbo winding up at extreme RPM's that heats up the charge air itself. So not only is it running out of air to keep up the demand, the air itself from the overworked turbine gets hot regardless of the intercooler you have. I am...
Love it. Had it just over a year. Never installed the intake though. Just a K & N drop filter and Airaid tube. Works even nicer with a intercooler. Although better in all the RPM's, It does run out of wind after 5k RPM, but that's just how it is with a small turbo.
Turns out I have a leaky EVAP hose. Keeps the gas fumes from escaping the gas cap. Of course they have to order the part and I will be without a car for 2 days. Stupid cheap ford hoses. They use cheap plastic that dry rots and cracks.
Bout to stick my foot in mouth -- I now have a CEL and taking it in tomorrow. Engine seems to be running fine though. It has a FP tune. I will let you know what they discover.
You might need a v8.
But yeah, you're not going to get a "climbing" pull feel without a pro-tune and some corn juice. Even then, you're going to be limited by the turbo and down pipe.
Yeah, it took 15-17 eco damn near 3 years.
I got 35500k on mine and just got a check engine light. Talk about timing. Engine is running like a clock and turbo is fine. Likely just a emission or sensor crapped out.
That's just peak. The entire curve increases from 2200RPM to 6800RPM and it no longer falls flat on its face after 4800RPM. You're talking over a 100HP improvement at the 6000RPM mark and I don't doubt with a larger intercooler it's more like 120+ WHP. The throttle response is also increased...
Why RS is a 40k car blows my mind. Minus the 4 wheel drive and the slightly beefier intercooler and compressor, it does not equate to the 15-20k difference. I guess its just the novelty and scarcity of the model.

245 HP stock, and the FP tune increased to 280hp/330tq. Skip to 8:28 . So that's actually 35HP and 80 lb tq peek. All he has is the Pack and exhaust. An intercooler could likely add another 15-20 hp.
Isn't the suspension tuning just a tower shock brace, stiffer front springs, and rigid thicker front and rear sway bars?
Of course, done at the shop would cost you 6 hrs of labor and a alignment.
