I noticed the lack of drains too, but then I was thinking about it and isn't the cold air pipe downhill from the airbox? Any accumulated water would just drain out that way.
Update on my fitment issues:
The larger connection is doing fine now with the re-seated grommet and it did a 400-mile highway run with zero problems. The smaller connection is still backing out a bit. I haven't had a chance to try pulling and flipping the smaller grommet yet, but when I get...
The larger one fell loose at some point today. It could have been as the engine was cooling after the drive. I'm not 100% sure.
I'm keeping a close eye on it.
Edit: And I will try flipping the grommet. Can't hurt to try.
So, couple notes after putting some miles on my car w/ the intake installed:
The grommets for the PCV connections on the inner side are giving me trouble. The larger one popped in (not out) partially at some point after installation and I had to retrieve it by removing the intake from the...
This got lost at the end of the last page, it seems.
I had an open bottle of 10W-30 and I just put a dab on a paper towel and hit the rings real quick.
I used Heinoceros's pictures from pages 1 and 3 as a guide. Haven't really blazed any new trails yet. I can snap a pic of the location I used to tap the signal when I go back in there to adjust the gain on the LOC when everything is ready to test.
Started on my amp/sub install today. I decided to tap the front speaker signal from the passenger side kick panel. I grabbed the speaker-out side of the harness rather than the stereo side just because I couldn't tell which set of wires came from the HU and which went to the tweeter. I suppose...
Love hearing that V8 induction noise!
Took a little less than two hours, being fairly meticulous. I goofed and forgot to reinstall the MAF sensor before I put the box in and I had to backtrack. That cost me 10-15 minutes.
David, etc., if you guys are looking for feedback, the one thing...
If I can get some snow melt to happen tomorrow, I may take a crack at tapping the front signal and hooking up my amp and subs.
Will let you guys know what I find out, if I do find anything out.
Don't think that's the case anymore. Unless there's some sort of pass-through going on here that isn't obvious, the Shaker systems in the S550 have amped component speakers.
