Dirk, yeah, I have to wonder/feel that the 5.0 will be downsized sometime due to CAFE. But, I'm not in the industry, so that's just pure speculation on my part.

Dang, I misread RTD's post about changes to the 2015 5.0. Lots of changes over to Boss components, and I thought the piston was one of them. Wrong. I doubt my guesses are going to be close, as I feel the redline w/ cast pistons is going to remain at 7000.

Given the reported changes, it sounds like the engine should be somewhere between the 444 horse Roadrunner and the 500 horse Aluminator. So:
460 hp @ 7400 rpm
410 ft-lbf @ 4500 rpm
Odds are very high that these numbers are completely wrong!

Do you know how many hours @ 3000 rpm equates to 250k miles? I'm wondering if it's around 2500 hours (i.e. 3000 rpm is roughly equal to 100 mph)? I also wonder how 'race-like' the first 50k miles are. As in accel rates from 4000 - 7500 rpm, duration @ 7500, and so on...
Ah, dyno time. Can you elaborate on the abuse? I believe hot and cold temp tests are part of it. But how much time at max power and/or redline? Time at max torque? Acceleration rates? Anything you could relay would be very interesting (to me). And might allay fenderaddicts' worries. Thanks.
