I had the driveshaft inspected at the local driveshaft shop (best in area). The shaft was bent, not to the visible eye but measurable...he spun to balance and found that the factory weights were dead opposite of where the shaft wanted to come into tolerance. He balanced to near zero tolerance...
My car was "adding timing and still had plenty to go" on the Whipple tune but the stock fuel system was "at the max" per the mechanic who dyno'd it....who also remote tunes for Whipple on other applications, he runs a full HP tuners datalog in tandem....haven't upgraded the tune yet but did run...
I had a very similar experience with Bentley continental GT (newest gen). I was just toying with him - would pull 3 cars ahead, let him catch up then pull another three cars....eventually pulled on him to where he gave up pulled on the side of me and did the good ol bow down move. He was a good...
Hey guys - all I can say is I have nearly identical setups to Jamie and Jason and for everyday driving the car is an animal. But if you want to hook and win races you better plan on another 3-4K in supporting mods and tires. The tune is out of control its better than OEM IMHO, seriously. I...
Update - flipped the shaft 180 degrees at the tail shaft and while the intensity has lowered the vibration is still there. Jaime is right I did do the half shafts at the same time so only real way to isolate is by putting the stock DS back in. FWIW I paid close attention to matching the half...
Two u joints but there is what seems to be a cv right in front of the rear pinion flange where the axle adjusts in length.
EDIT - it's a slip yoke not a cv
I have a Shaftmasters one piece aluminum driveshaft (MT) and I'm having a bitch of a time to get it clocked in balance.
At this point it's been in every possible location on the rear pinion and the vibration can be moved around in the speed range and on accel and decel. Can't really feel it at...
My "sleeper" Boost Gauge install
The AEM gauge comes with a MAP sensor weatherproof oem style connector under the hood and a harness that splits off in two at the gauge. I then disassembled the console and head unit a little bit and then soldered the 12v and ground in to the...
I installed my warrior shocks last night. I was looking around this forum for some real world experience on settings and what's been successful for everyone out there.
I found that the data was scattered and not organized in anyway and that a lot of people have different types of successes...
I have a whipple kit with the stock tune, I did 710/511 in 90 deg heat on 93. I am waiting on a full suspension setup to come in:
MGW
BMR Sway Bars and Links
Steeda Linear Springs
BMR Toe Rod
BMR Vertical Links
Viking Shocks
Shaft Masters One Piece DS
DSS 800HP Half Shafts
BMR Poly Cradle...
My hands hurt and looks like I went 10 round with mayweather but what an accomplishment to get those projects out of the way.....it takes some balls to rip apart your brand new car congrats on the upgrades. I get the first hell ride when the rxt is broken in.
I don't recommend anyone who does not consider themselves a capable mechanic (general reference I know nothing about ur skill level) doing open heart surgery on their car and installing a supercharger. The manual was the best I've ever had but experience, patience, and the right tools are...
