  1. March 2016 Mustang Sales

That's interesting. The 6th gen Camaro has been out for a couple months now...given how GM made a big deal about the 5th gen outselling the updated S197, you'd think that they would have maintained that momentum, especially since most of the tests of the 6th gen car rave about the handling.
  2. 2017 GT350 New Colors (Official Pics & Standard Equipment Confirmed)

I was upset about Deep Impact Blue being axed, but Lightning Blue looks like a suitable replacement. I do find it curious that the GT350 updates are being announced BEFORE the updates for the standard car, though. My guess is powertrain updates of some sort are in store.
  3. 2016 Mustang Order Guide

Yeah, I'm surprised by that as well.. The hardware and code exist... The 6R80 is a rebadged ZF piece, and ZF automatics (their new 9AT aside) are pretty good about being willing to play. I think it's more an issue with software (and what management says) than anything else.
  4. 2015+ GT350 Mustang official power specs: 526 HP / 429 LB-FT!

Actually, they probably don't. The graph Ford is using doesn't have hp and torque scaled the same.
  5. 2015+ GT350 Mustang official power specs: 526 HP / 429 LB-FT!

Probably for emissions or some other BS. I knew the P81 package had the SLS crank and a power increase...
  6. 2015+ GT350 Mustang official power specs: 526 HP / 429 LB-FT!

Naturally aspirated OHV engines are more or less limited to one intake valve and one exhaust valve (there are multi-valve ones out there but they're almost all diesel), meaning that there has to be additional on paper displacement in order to make more power than, say, an N/A DOHC engine making...
  7. 2015+ GT350 Mustang official power specs: 526 HP / 429 LB-FT!

Correct on all counts. If memory serves, the differences in outputs were due primarily to intake and exhaust layouts on the various vehicles it was installed in.
  8. 2015+ GT350 Mustang official power specs: 526 HP / 429 LB-FT!

Re: the hp and torque graph Is it too much to ask for manufacturers to scale hp and toque the same on these things, or is there a reason behind not doing so?
  9. New Shelby GT350 Mustang Revealed! 5.2L Flat Plane Crank V8, 500+HP / 400 LB-FT

Excellent. What's the redline? Also, where did these MagnaRide dampers come from? Are they the ones originally designed by GM, or is this a Ford-designed system?
  10. Proof of 5.2L NA V8 for next SVT Mustang?

But why would it be written as PFI NA HP1?
  11. Proof of 5.2L NA V8 for next SVT Mustang?

Generally, yes, it does. Not sure if its a SAE acronym though. I know that SFI is...
  12. Proof of 5.2L NA V8 for next SVT Mustang?

Boss Racing makes me think that it'd be for the factory race cars...
  13. Rumor: Steeda Blog - 2015 Mustang Weight Gain (Updated with Steeda's Response)

Yeah. I haven't had a chance to drive a 13-14, but I read a test on one of the blog sites (think it was Autoblog) that said that in manual mode, shift times were about what you'd expect from an novice to average manual driver. The big thing for me is that we finally got paddles instead of that...
  14. Rumor: Steeda Blog - 2015 Mustang Weight Gain (Updated with Steeda's Response)

The name was used back then, yeah, but the transmissions it is current used on have little in common with the C4 and C6 autos.
  15. Rumor: Steeda Blog - 2015 Mustang Weight Gain (Updated with Steeda's Response)

I haven't been following the conversation, but I do have some info that might help. The 6R80 as used in the Mustang, F-150, and Expedition isn't even a Ford design; they licensed one of the high torque variants of ZF's 6HP transmissions. I will confess that I do not know how much it...
  16. Rumor: Steeda Blog - 2015 Mustang Weight Gain (Updated with Steeda's Response)

Those were 'insider reports'. All unofficial.
