I personally would not buy one of these used. The motors are stout enough to make 1000 whp on E85 and proper tuning. The problem I have is how was it run and maintained? Fuel used? Was the temps (oil, engine cht, trans) always brought up to operating levels before WOT shenigans is the biggest...

My hillbillie track (closest to me) is 1500’ and faces W. Atco is well below average times and traps even at sea level. I ran Palm Beach (PBIR) many times and never close to the mine shaft air up there... lol.

RacerX channel on youtube has a bunch of good info on the 392’s. They are great running cars with the A8. He has both a 392 and a HC to compare.

Yes. But, even with the “speed limiter” shut to off in the tune I had a TCU rpm limiter @ 120 mph and another one around 130 mph. Tuner had to manually find them in the TCU code. My car is a base 300a with pp1 a10. fyi.

7th gear is 1 to 1 on a10. That is why without tuning it is hard to get an accurate dyno number because of hitting speed limiter.

A10 period in any car is quicker than a manual. I have actually been looking at 18-19 zl1’s with the manual. I realize on the street up until 115 mph my corn tuned gen3 a10 would hang no problem to a factory stock manual zl1. The maro has the tremec and manual power engagement is still fun!

BBC is hard to beat $ for the hp. Real easy 600 hp n/a for dirt cheap. Hell 555/572 ci setups make 700-800 on 93 pump n/a.

My buddy has a 17 pp car with just h pipe and roush mufflers. His best is 12.9 @ 108-109 mph at local hillbillie track 1500’ elevation. He runs mainly 13’s on street tire.
