The dealership finally got the rattle fixed. They claimed they fixed about a week ago but when I picked it up it was still making the noise. They had me ride around with the shop foreman and he heard it. He told me they wouldn't give it back until he had personally driven it and verified that...
Glad it's back and looking good. Mine's still in the shop. They can't figure out how to fix the ticking sound in the driver's side latch area. At least I'm in a loaner and not draining my bank account through Uber rides.
Congrats, great looking car! I've always considered myself a "car guy" not a Ford, Porsche, or "insert brand here" guy. Cool cars are cool cars. And your new Camaro looks awesome.
Active exhaust in quiet mode 24x7. Then I switch it up once I'm out of the neighborhood. And I drive super slow, smile and wave at the neighbors. It's all good in my neighborhood.
Just a follow up to the repairs. We're getting closer!
1. I had to pay for a new tire. The screw was too close to the sidewall to patch. Such is life.
2. They replaced a piece of rubber weather stripping on the top, on the drivers side edge where the leak was. We've had a lot of rain and it...
Yep, this will be my first winter with the GT convertible. UPS just dropped off my set of winter wheels and Yokohama winter tires. In the DC Metro area.
EDIT - And I put about 5 cans of Fluid Film on the bottom of the frame. I used their little sprayer hose inside as many frame holes as I could...
So the dealer is ordering new weather stripping for the drivers side of the top, and they're ordering new parts for the handle to fix the creaking sound. I have to say they've been very communicative and easy to work with so far.
And for more fun and games I got a screw in the sidewall on the...
Hey man, thanks much for popping-in and providing that info. The top is an intricate piece of machinery and it wouldn't surprise me if the local techs got nowhere. Good to know about the cleaning and lubricating. I will make sure to stay on top of that, even if the Ford guys "fix" the issue...
Yikes, that's not good. Mine appears to be leaking at the roof/window joint, so it may be a seal or window adjustment (vs. the fabric getting ripped).
That sucks - I hope you get it fixed!
On a separate note - if you haven't read Stuart McGill's book called "Back Mechanics", you really should. Goes into huge detail about the back, pain diagnosis, rehab exercises, etc. It's helping me tremendously with my back issues. Good luck...
I don't have sciatica, but I do have a bulging lower disk. The heated seats help, but I feel your pain. It isn't fun. I wish the seats had thigh extenders on them like the sports seats in BMW's.
Well, the roof has started creaking like a 100 year old house and water is dripping into the driver's side when it rains hard. So much for my trust in newer Ford quality. Sigh. Off to the dealer on Monday. Only 3500 miles and it's developing problems.
Sorry, just feeling cranky on a Friday...
