Floyd Bennet Field? I'd hoped to work a event there this fall, I was going to put the OT toward my next set of wheels. Are the Essens flow-forged? Weight?
The rear seats in my 944 are no less usefully than the rear seats in my Mustang so a transaxle should be easy. If you want a spare tire you'll need to get creative. Rear suspension will probably need extensive modification though, the 944 uses torsion bars and trailing arms. Im not sure this...
They are LMRs brand but that doesn't seem to stop them from getting pretty solid reviews. Some models are flow formed and should be strong enough for just about any use you can think of. The finish may not be as nice as P6GR, but the price difference makes it worth it for some on the forum. MMR...
The Rohanas are pretty heavy, IIRC. I'd never put anything that heavy on a car, but I could see putting one on my boat if I didn't already have a 32 lb anchor.
The Project 6g wheels are a much better choice. SVE has several similar designs, also flow formed, at a lower price point.
He mentioned that he wants to use a set of all seasons that he already has, I'd assume for winter use.
For the OP, your 275s will be fine on 9.5" wheels. Depending on where you live that is probably a solid choice for winter use. 285s would be better on 10" wheels but, for snow, I'd probably not...
I've never heard of a clearance issue (not that i've heard it all) and i can't imagine a 35 series would make a difference since it is usually the width that causes problems. I'm also not sure a 275 even fits on a 9" PP front wheel, it certainly wouldn't be the best choice and the shorter...
24.5 lbs according to this thread. https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/stock-wheel-weights-and-light-weight-wheel-options.67921/
I've found the 19x8.5" Black Accent wheels in the "What things weigh" thread, 26 lbs and change isn't too bad for the size.
I'd do a 275/40 before I did 275/35. The stock size for the EBPP-HPP is 265/40 and several optional wheels (Black Accent comes to mind) use 255/40, along with that being the standard front for PP1.
I haven't ruled out 295/35 yet for my next set.
Yes, I've seen your spreadsheet, you PMed it to me a few weeks ago. I gave it a look and appreciate the effort that you put into it, but it didn't include anything of use to me that I hadn't already committed to memory.
I'm not sure I'm following your logic. Are you saying that 30 series can't...
Without changing control arms or spindles, your wheels should be in the same place. A change in the upper mount (camber plates added or removed) can change the angle of the wheel and tire, which would cause the top of it to look like it moved. Get an alignment.
I agree that the design of the Mustang demands a little meat around the wheels, but I disagree with any comments that aspect ratio, based on number alone, matters very much. Aspect ratio is just that, a ratio, it measures the sidewall as a percentage of the section width and looking at aspect...
All true, I didn't have to worry that much about being a moving chicane, my competitive driving was limited to autocross, road course events were DE and open lapping. Still, the double infield at Pocono was a case of "reel 'em in in the infield and watch 'em run away on the straight" twice per...
Each has it's pros and cons.
There are plenty of 18" tires to choose from. 18s are less expensive to run and are often lightest (combined wheel and tire weight) at any given price point. This may allow one to splurge on a lighter wheel or a higher quality tire. The downside includes less...
LOL, don't sell your 944 short, it may be lacking in power, but there aren't many cars that can outhandle it (even 3.5 decades later) for less than 6 figures. C&D even called it the best handling car in America when it came out in '84. I spent 7-8 years autocrossing mine and did a number of...
LOL, most of my cars have only received attention from guys. The only car I ever drove that could be called a chick magnet was a '74 Super Beetle convertible. I had a friend that had a MGB that had a similar results and knew a guy later who said the same about his Rabbit convertible. I guess...
