  3. 5.2 FPC - Devil's Advocate

There is only one metric that truly matters when it comes to engine performance: Power generated for a given engine weight. Usable power is definitively not Max HP and area under the torque curve might be a better indicator although not the only one. More power for less engine weight is...
  4. Triple yellow GT spotted and probably available for purchase

Thanks, but I dont trust any dealership trained grease monkey to work on my cars anyways. I do all my maintenance work myself. I also have Steeda and BBR local for any install/work that I dont feel comfortable doing myself.

  9. GT350 Mustang Pricing [Update: rumored $52,995 starting price]

A $50K starting price would work great for me as a second vehicle after I pay of my gt. They can keep the Fluff Pkg (aka Tech Pkg) and depending on the base performance I might decline the Track Pkg as well...
  10. Base model owners - what do you think?

I went with the base gt because to me all the electronics and gadgets are simply fluff that add weight and makes me slower. I did add the pp. More importantly my out the door price (including tax, tag and registration) was $35,500.

  12. Malorojo is Finally Home!

malorojo, LOL. Sounds like a Mexican lucha libre character... Congrats! Red looks really good in this Mustang. I had the temptation to order one of the "crazy" colors (TY, CO, DIB) but decided that a more conservative approach matched my personality a lot better.
  13. Triple yellow GT spotted and probably available for purchase

The car was still available yesterday...They also had a couple of V6s and like 3 GTs (White, Black and Orange) besides the Yellow. White GT has the AP.
  14. Starting in first gear

It was this video (or one very similar) that "taught" me how to rev match. Rev matching his down shifts is what that drivers is doing. Double clutching is not needed with our synchronized gears. When you Double clutch (needed with unsynchronized gears) you first clutch in and move the...
  15. Starting in first gear

This is part of the learning process. Dont be embarrased. Practice makes it perfect. First thing you need to determine is the engagement point for your clutch. This is the point where your clutch starts "kissing" the flywheel. This is the point where if you let the pedal rise a little bit...
  16. "Current Build Week" 10/26/2014 tracking thread

Mine was very accurate. EDD was originally 11/23. It went to 11/20 when it went into transit. Then changed to 11/19 and a couple of days later 11/14. On 11/12 it changed to 11/13 and around 4:00PM it changed to 11/12. By 6:00PM it showed as "Delivered". Sure as shit, I stopped by the dealer and...
  17. After Driving 2 GT's

I agree about the exhaust note. I will upgrade based solely on weight loss and potential power increase. Too early to form a solid opinion about the gearbox but what is clear is that this car needs a short throws shifter upgrade. I havent driven manual for the last two years but from what I...
  18. Got a CEL after I took delivery

Your're right...It smells like it is burning some chemicals. Assembly lube, maybe?
  19. Got a CEL after I took delivery

Last night I tried to hook up my old diy OBD2 interface to pull codes but I couldnt get it to work. Last time I used it was almost 10 years ago on my Sti and it worked great. No mater, this morning the CEL was gone. Drove 20 miles to work and it is still off. I'll keep an eye on it...
