they are fiber optic strands. There is a light projector box that uses an LED bulb. I have no clue if it could be controlled with my color but I agree that would be pretty neat. I drove at night for the first time and they REALLY pop at night. Not distracting at all!

Had I not found my shadow black with black option, I would have gone RC. That is such a rich color.
