Your software updates for MFT are free. HERE.com charges for map updates. The current version is A6. Really there isn't much need to update mapping but people do like the latest and greatest. I agree map updates should be free but we can't have everything. Many people get map cards cheaper...

And don't do the quick format. I had one that I use all the time with my MFT stuff and suddenly wouldn't work right anymore. Got the corrupt file errors, etc. Worked fine after a FULL reformat of it.

Reformat the USB drives and make sure you do FAT when you do.

You are correct that a dealer update of the SYNC system will wipe NAV. This goes for all post-OEM navigation upgrades done by any provider at this point. If they (the dealer) ever wants to update SYNC...don't let them and contact me first. I can talk to them about it and any issues.

Will be interesting to see if you get a DTC regarding the DSP not being there. My educated guess (based on Zack saying there should be a DSP in the vehicle it came from) is that the setup is seeing a failure (if programmed for DSP) and defaulting to "normal" control. Just by guess.

Pretty sure your dealer is lost in space. If you send me a PM with your VIN I can look up the APIM programming and see if you are current and possible see what software packs they are saying don't belong there.

That's why I want to know if the fade works. If DSP is present then the APIM is programmed to control fade via DSP. The audio is sent through all paths from the APIM which is why the speakers are working however I don't know if fade will default to both controls or not. This type of stuff...

That is because the programming between the two did not match. Very interested in the fading as I don't know if it is expecting an amplifier(DSP) with that setup or not.

Very cool. You replaced the ACM as well? If you did the extra antenna is the SAT antenna. What happens when you try to use dual climate control (on both the bezel and the MFT Screen)? Have you had a chance to pull DTCs? Also do all the speakers work, bass/treble, fade functions all work...

Yes he was intimately familiar with the programming and setup of it because he worked for one of the vendors that helped developed SYNC3....needless to say he didn't keep his job long after that post (so it was rumored but there was info to back it up).

MFT doesn't support APPs like that. You have to manually play it through MFT.

No you can't. You can load some pics to MFT for the wallpaper.
